Hello,
I've been giving some serious thought recently to a change of career, training to be a hypnotherapist (maybe combined with NLP) and trying to develop a business from it.
I'd really appreciate any views people could offer re the viability of making a successful living as a hypnotherapist. I've done a certain amount of research, looked at various training courses available, people offering hypnotherapy in my area (central/SE London), and the threads on here. It seems an exciting option to me, but some of my worries are - are there enough potential clients, are there too many people training (there seem to be a great many training providers out there) and is the market saturated with hypnotherapists? I know much would depend on my own abilities, marketing skills etc, but if anyone could give me just a general picture of things that would be great.
Thanks

My vision is very simple:
1. You must love what you do
2. Nowadays there are a lot of modern new invented old therapies with new ‘marketised’ names and there are a lot of teaching and training schools etc... and also online .... so, the more such schools the lower quality and you see how people react and becoming sceptical after visiting ‘guru’ promising magical cure
3. You main tool- you and your knowledge and personality
4. You can do big marketing, great promos and mega advertisement BUT do not forget that this costs must be included in you price and you cannot charge less to survive
5. According to 2. As a result, people are looking to try first and of course they will not choose the higher price.
6. I built my clientele within first 1 year time weary simple: I gave free treatments (2 month) for some people and helped them a lot and they recommended me to other people and so on. Now I have own clinic and good and stable flow of clients that interested only in therapy (usually about 3-7 treatments in average). For me this is the best - I needn’t spend money for too much adverts, promos, google etc
7. You know yourself better then I know you. Of course after the training you will not become rich but you can grow and only you become your guid. You need create your identity and your style, become unique. We all are not guru of business but if you will work alone then you have to decide your strategy: or be marketing promoter or concentrate your full power on treatments and people you treat. This is like to run after 2 rabbits that run in different directions.
