hi im very interested in hypnotherapy and am after advice please. Could you recommend a good training provider that I could study with? . There is such a minefield out there and I'm getting more confused by the minute lol. I live in a rural area in north wales so more of a home study with some practical days would probably be best . Any advice and recommendations i.e.who are the awarding bodies as there seems to be so many. My plan would be to set up a practice when I finish the training so whoever give the recognised qualification to a high standard would be best. Thanks

Well, Jonathan Royle is quite well known up your way... (around Wirral, Manchester, Liverpool so not far)

He's quite a character (yes, I've met him once), but he does appear to know his stuff about hypnosis and hypnotherapy.
Seems a little too focused on wealth and money for my liking and I'm not sure how his course(s) fit in with national accreditation bodies, but you could always enquire and find out. However, he's been doing it for a good length of time so it obviously works for him.

Aside from that, you would be looking in to those who focus more on the therapy side, and clearly offer accredited courses. I would suggest that a decent course would include more than just the 'hypnosis' side of things, but also includes something that you use alongside the hypnosis, such as NLP or TimeLine therapy etc. as they are the sort of things that work well alongside hypnosis to make it hypnotherapy.

Always fancied learning that for myself; just never had the time to do it.

Central England College of Hypnotherapy in Birmingham runs courses that can be done in blocks of a week at your own pace or at weekends. The full course takes 4 weeks, or 8 weekends. Its where I trained and some of the students I studied with came from Wales.

There are lots of great books and videos that you can find on the internet to help you with your practice. I like to read blogs on the subject and they usually suggest some good places to find books and other stuff like that. Good luck with everything!!
