Hi..can anyone tell me if hypnotherapy can help my son with his day and night time wetting.

hes not botherd by it at all and is quite a rounded little boy..but we have exhausted all medical and other techniques (reward, no mention of it, loads of attention etc) but to no avail.

ive already posted a thread asking for advice and someone had suggsted hypnotherapy...

not sure what its all about and would love to know if it can help...how long it will take and what it acutally does..

looking forward to your replies x

Hi SC
Yes, hypnotherapy can probably help. They need to find the actually cause of the problem and deal with that.
Ensure you choose a good therapist who can get on well with your son and build a rapport of trust with him. Hypnotherapy is a "do with" process, not a "do to" one. It is important that you son feels comfortable with him.
All the Best

Hi danielahH,

thanks for your advice...

If i choose a therapist...what qualifications should i look for...what professional body should they belong to?

As I have never used a therapist before..and to be honest none of my friends have...how can I distinguish one from the other?

any tips would be most appreciated.

Ensure that they have had proper training and are qualified, they will have certificates or diplomas.
They might also belong to some professional bodies - there are many of them, I cannot say which is better.
Most important is that you and your son are comfortable with them.
You could start looking in the HP members list for someone who specialises in hypnotherapy. Speak to a couple of them and get a feel for what they do, ask them how they work and anything else that concerns you.
A good therapist will be happy to reassure you and answer all your queries before you decide to engage them.
🙂

Hello there, I have pm'd you. If you are looking for a hypnotherapist in the UK then you could try and log on to the questinstitute.co.uk website for a list of qualified cognitive hypnotherapists who also use NLP techniques.
