Hi,

I've recently completed a Hot Stones course. I'm going to be mobile initially so was wondering if a large heater is too impractical? I'd like to use as many stones as possible but was wondering if a smaller size would be better?

Thanks

the large stone heater is very big and you have to think where will you put it when you get to someones house?

I do hot stones as a mobile treatment, in fact i did one tonight! I found the small stone heater works best, especially as it fits nicely on my little portable table and doesn't take up too much room and isn't too heavy.

I use a wide range of stones and don't find having a smaller heater impacts on things in anyway. I just lay stones on top of each other.

Good luck with the mobile work

If you are going to an appointment straight from home you could pre heat the stones first, and wrap them up in towels to keep warm until you get to a clients house, boil a kettle up and pop the rocks in the oven with hot water, it shouldnt take too long to get them to the right heat you need them.

It doesn't take very long to heat them up.

If i get time then i heat them up at home first, but if not then when i get to my client's house, i set up the stones first and use some hot water put in the heater and stick it on to my pre heat setting. It then takes me about 7 - 10mins to set up the rest of my stuff eg couch and by this time my stones are ready to go and i turn them down to an appropriate setting.

Even if the stones were not completely ready at the beginning but heated up even more during the treatment, i wouldn't see that as a problem, i often start with my heater turned down a littleor i cool the stones off slightly (in some cold water) as it can take a little while for the client to get used to the heat but by the end they are loving it!

I have quite a few people who have hot stone massage and some people who have it all year round, they love it as a mobile treatment!
