Does anyone know where I can get a set of cold face stones where the p&p doesn't cost more than the stones?
I've seen sets of 4 stones for about £15 ex-VAT, but when the p&p is added is takes it over £30. Unfortunately the suppliers aren't local to me, so I can't pick them up.

Bodyworkzone on Ebay (have bought from them previously) are doing a set of 6 cold stones for £15.99 plus £2.75 p&p, if that's any good.

I find the same problem exactly.
I hope to buy about 3 or 4 medium sized cold marble stones and maybe 4 or 5 face ones, and the only p&p free options are Amazon where:
6 stones cost £19
11 cost cost £33 and
17 cost £40
Seems kind of steep to me considering sets of 30 hot basalt stones can be gotten everywhere for around £25-£30...
Any thoughts or advice is very welcomed
I got mine from Amazon in the end, can't remember what I paid, but it seemed resonable at the time.
The important thing was that I was after face stones, so the correct size was crucial.
Client's don't like having their faces massaged with a boulder :eek:.

I had a look at Ellisons and they have a decent 10 stone set for £28.50

Most basalt sets are natural finish, maybe tumbled, no effort in 'making' the stones. Carved basalt sets are becoming more common, but they're failry easy to smooth out. Carved marble on the other hand is VERY labour intensive, getting marble smooth, even using machines, takes a lot of sanding down, hence the quality marble sets are more expensive than hot sets.

I actually emailed a couple of my local marble dealers asking if they have pebbles and small rocks for a poor studnet, but perhaps this explains why they didn't get back to me...
Most of the stones used for cold don't really form pebbles or stones, they tend to shatter with rough edges. Natural cold stones are pretty difficult to find. I've got some quartzite, but that's about the only one I've seen that does get naturally shaped.
Marble isn't the only stone you can use cold, lots of crystals can be used (though best as chilled rather than frozen). Marble is recommended so often because it can go in the freezer. I think rose quartz balls are great for facial work, most crystal shops will have some spheres.
What can I expect to spend on a small to medium sized quartzite or rose quartz - are they not more expensive than regular marble stones (about £2 to £3 each)?

No idea about pricing, I'm in the wrong country.
I'll add you can actually use basalt for cold, it works very well, but most practitioners like the visual clue of basalt means hot, something else (usually marble) is cold. Granite also works well hot or cold. Hematite works well hot or cold (it works incredibly well hot)
