Hi
If you get in touch with Marc Innes of Gatewayworkshops. He sells a set of Hot Stones and Heater for around £130 with next day delivery. .
Looks like its £145, but does include delivery, which is normally around £12.95 and fast delivery is always good ...

Thanks for your help, I can't order until (and if) tvdeals refund my money. Can only hope they do so soon.
Hi peeps
I've just registered for this site and i came across this thread. I've had a read through and thought i could pass on some info for you all. Have you tried tirmassage? It's an American website and a complete kit with shipping etc would cost you approx £150 (dependant on exchange rate). The bonus is, is that the stones come with a certificate for quality and composition of the stones. I don't know about you but i would prefer a good quality set than the cheapest set i could get purely for the paying customers experience of the treatment. I've just completed my Hot Stone course and i'm buying from this website.
Hope this helps!:)
Cheers Izzy, I've looked at them with thoughts of ordering when I get this other company sorted (needless to say still no email from them). Let me know how you get on please. Their delivery was about 160 dollars I think + I wasn't sure if you'd get stung with import tax when they get here, so that has been putting me off. You'll likely be up and running before I even get a reply from tvdeals. I'd order a kit now from elsewhere, but knowing my luck, tvdeals would then deliver my kit and I dread to think how much it would cost to send them back.
I got stones from TIR Massage and they were BAD IMO. If you want to work with tiny stones they might be suitable, but everything was smaller than they indicated. I still have a pair of 'large back massage' stones in their beautifully sealed packet they were shipped in where the supposedly large stones are 5cm across and flat, the x-large sacrum stone was about 8am across - that is what I would consider a large back stone. Maybe you prefer working with tiny stones. The 64 stone set was 7kg. The toes stones were so thin they were almost transparent! The 54 stone set I got from AML was 13kg and I am EXTREMELY happy with it, but it is more expensive, bigger stones, more expensive shipping due to the extra weight of the larger stones. The old saying that you get what you pay for really does apply to stones from America....
Stone therapy depends on the stones holding heat and the effect of gravity from the weight of the stone so you don't have to make so much effort. Holding heat depends on the type of stone AND the size of the stone, a small stone cools down faster than a large stone.
Thanx for the warning Cola - back to the drawing board then.
Found this thread re; tvdeals . DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!! I wish this info was there before I wasted my money. Hope it helps prevent others from sending them money.
Hi everyone,
Been reading through this thread about hot stones and the troubles people have finding nice quality stones. I had a bad experience with a British Internet company and sent mine back, luckily got my money back after lots of emails back and forth. I then found the Hot Stone Hut in Canada. Very nice friendly lady to deal with, sent lots of enqs etc first and checked prices. In the end I have purchased from her a 64 stone set all hand picked and natural so some very nice useful shapes included. I opted for a fed ex 5 day delivery as well and I paid £157 total. Also because of being an international customer and paying high delivery charges she gave me an extra 6 stones of my choice as a gift to say thanks for the order, so in total I now have a 70 piece stone set. They are beautiful stones and I am really pleased with them. I would recommend highly. As they say you get what you pay for and if you want to give quality treatments then you have to be prepared to buy the best equipment for the job!
Hot Stone Hut usually has good stones, and are usually very helpful. I have heard of some reports of occassional challenges with them, but most reports have been positive to very positive. I got one absolutely amazing set from them, and some good to very good sets. I think I was disappointed they weren't all amazing sets 🙁 if I hadn't seen the different quality, I would've been happy with their good sets.
(AML have been consistently very good to almost amazing).
I've also got some amazing stones on eBay, but that seller is no longer selling 🙁 All the other eBay sets I've seen have usually been terrible. Hot Stone Hut sometimes lists on eBay. Rubrocks I find a bit small and uniform (they're machined, not natural) The machined sets are becoming much more common, they are making them in China and flooding the market a bit. Most of them are on the small side, even smaller than Rub Rocks stones. I wonder if that's what the TV Deals stones are, machined stones from China?
I've had a look at hotstonehut.com and they look really good. Does anyone know how much the canadian dollar converts into pounds and do the tax men grab their cut of import duty when the stones get to this side?
I didn't pay any import duty at all, the amount i paid was purely what the exchange rate was on the day, I think the canadian dollar is just less than 2 to the pound at the moment, but if you check on xe currency converter that is a good estimate.
Wendy.
Thanx Wendy,
I've placed my order after several emails to them, and when it came to pay through paypal, the exact amount payable in £s came up. I hope their stones are as good as their service, as they've been excellent in replying to my queries. So far, I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to buy their stones from.
On a suprise note: tvdeals have sent me an email stating they've refunded my money . If only they would reply to emails. They need to get some lessons in customer service from Mariah at hotstonehut.com.
Thank you all for your advice, it looks like things are sorting theirselves out at last.
Kevin.
I'm glad to hear you're having a positive experience with Hot Stone Hut 🙂 Let us know how the stones are once you have them 🙂
Great to hear you've got a refund from tvdeals and can put it all behind you 🙂 I think you'll be getting the better stones the way it's turned out.
We got the full hot and cold set of LaStone stones and the heater. They are normally really expensive and there is a difference in the quality of the finish that a discerning client will sense. Always get the best your money can buy, cheap isn't always a good deal - you get what you pay for.
However, me being chief Ebay-er checked out an ex-therapist's kit for sale and got a genuine bargain, saved hundreds! Bonus - just happened to be looking at the right time. So, it's worth keeping your eye on the auction-style sites, you may come up trumps like we did!
hotstonehut.com
Got my stones just as I was leaving for a few days break (litterally, nearly missed them by seconds) so quickly ran into the house to check them over before I left. They're so much better than the set I got on ebay and so much bigger too. I got six large working stones which are absolutely huge. Anyone with small hands should definately not get the large ones for working with. The service and communication with hotstonehut.com was beyond first class and very friendly and helpful, even putting some free stones in the box for me to try :). No import duty either which I was worried about. Anyone starting off or needing some bigger stones to complement their existing set would do well to check them out. Highly recommended, so finally I'm a happy bunny :021:.
Hmm, my hands are not very big 😉 anyway, I was following opinions here and can see nice kit on hotstonhut's site, I am just thinking if the big heater is not too big, or the small one not too small... It is a "STANDARD HOT STONE MASSAGE KIT" and I would be grafefull of advice from some experienced therapists here 🙂
the kindest regards
Oh, and does anyone knows where in London (or maybe Hampshire... or anywhere hahaha) you can buy it instore? At least a heater, and would it be cheaper than online (at least you don't need to pay postage 😉
Just thought I'd put in an update regarding stones, as I've been using them for a while now. I have to say that the stones I got from hotstonehut hold their heat for a darn site longer and are much nicer to use than those from ebay, so as money becomes available, I'll be sending for some smaller ones and phasing out those I got from ebay. Anyone looking for new stones, have a look there, they have a wide choice of sizes and variety. The only one I was dissapointed with was the pillow stone which was quite small, so I just use it as a worker.
Hi Kevin,
Good to hear that you are having success with and enjoying your stones from hotstonehut. I see that you also got the email bout her sale. Hopefully lots of others out there will take the plunge and try them, as we know they are brilliant and I am really, really pleased with mine to.
I haven't been on this site for a while now, so thought I'd catch up and see whats happening and couldn't believe that the stones issue is still a HOT topic being discussed.
Anyway all the best for 2009.
Wendy

Hi
Can you pls send me the link for the website
thanks
MeTime
Hi MeTime,
For the kit you're looking for try ebay or or tao books. I had a lot of trouble with tv deals last year and got mine from tao books, but a friend got hers from tvdeals, just took a long wait. They don't tell you when they're not in stock, just take your mone and keep you waiting. However, my stones quickly became obsolete as I found imported stones from Canada were far superior quality and retained their heat a lot longer than these cheap kits. I don't think hotstonehut.com is still running which is a real pity as they were excellent, but it's worth looking around and paying a little bit extra, especially for the stones.
Hope this helps
would be wary of TVdeals
hada lot of probs recently with them very very long time delivering and then order was wrong and trying to get them to correct was impossible
they used to be very good with prompt service but my last orders was a nightmare
I stay well away from them now
Steve

Are you sure that HSH is not running as their website is still patent and no information is displayed to say they are not trading?
Patchouli
Hot Stone Hut seem to go througha few different website addresses, hotstonehut.com was it at one stage, now it's something else www.hotstone-shop.com . It's still the same HSH. I suppose they haven't been getting as much control over their website initially as they should and abandon the site for some reason. A good example why you should ALWAYS do your own website domain registration and organise your hosting rather than let someone looking after your website do everything - get it in your name and you can easily change who looks after your website.
I'm pleased they're still in business as their stones are really good. I've looked for them and I think they're now back as , their original address. Obviously had a few teething problems. They're extremely helpful too and they were very quick at answering any queries I had when ordering.
certified quality?
the stones come with a certificate for quality and composition of the stones.
I don't believe this is possible. I sent some stones to the Natural History Museum for identification. They said that they could make a guess at what the stones were, but to confirm it they would need to use some kind of electronic spectrum scanning device. Each sweep of the scanner checks for one mineral only and costs £95 plus VAT. One scan might be enough to confirm what kind of rock a stone is but it is equally likely to require several scans. Without the scan/scans they can only make an educated guess.
So if anybody tells you that they can certify what rock is contained within a natural pebble, (even if they break it in half and take a good look at its insides), without paying a lot of money for scans then I think you'll find that they're really talking about an educated guess.
