I've just seen someone prescribe these remedies on a daily basis and I'm shocked that anyone would be able to take these without some effect, aggravation. Would love to hear what the homeopaths feel about taking these on a daily basis - would kill me! Is this safe to take - curious to know what would happen - and it was for a period of 6 - 8 weeks - what would be the outcome? By the way - it's not me I could never ever take that amount but from what I know about remedies isn't it watch and wait with a remedy - not taking this amount daily. Look forward to the comments.

Morning: Carbo-veg 30 (4 tabs)
Afternoon: Argentum nitricum 30 (4tabs)
Night : Asafoetida 30 (4 Tabs)
Sepia 200 (4 tabs) Fortnightly.

I wouldn't take homeopathic remedies as a matter of course, and would be very surprised if the person prescribing this is a properly qualified homeopath.
Remedies are typically prescribed after looking at a persons individual picture, for particular issues, and it's rare for there to be a long term prescription as it's usually just taking them for 1 or 2 days and then seeing how things change, and adapting the prescription as necessary, hence why it's important to keep in touch with the homeopath and keep them updated on progress.

There are only a few remedies that I would consider to be self-treating remedies for specific known issues, such as arnica for shock/bruising etc. but even these should be taken when needed and not as a matter of course.

What would happen if you took this amount - would you be ill?

Janet - if these remedies have been prescribed by a qualified homeopath for someone else, then surely that person should be asking these questions of the homeopath? What is suitable for one person may not be the remedy of choice for another.

It was something that I saw on the internet and I wanted to know how so many remedies could be taken so many times on one day - I didn't think this was how remedies were prescribed and was curious to know how this many would work.

When I studied homeopathy the message was against using more than one remedy.....just as it was in medicine when I was doing my pharmacy degree. I was taught polypharmacy was something to be avoided.....and look at where we are now (don't get me started lol)

However I know homeopaths have used multiple remedies for some time now. In fact some are recommended. There was one set of remedies recommend for patients having surgery .

The remedies you mention are not massively potent as they are 30c. Taking more than one tablet at a time is also not unusual. The fortnightly dose of sepia rings a bell somewhere in my mind too - and that is much more potent than the others at 200c.

Homeopathy cannot directly harm - healing reactions are a potential problem but as Jabba says this will have been prescribed for one specific person after a consultation. We don't know the circumstances. There can be no harm from this combination. Whether it will do any good as another matter altogether. If the remedy is wrong then my understanding is it will have no effect.

Higher dilutions have a higher potency - there is a good explanation here -
