I used a white sage smudge stick/abalone shell to cleanse my crystals and room. I have very little left of the sage smudge stick (maybe about an inch left) and its ashes sitting in the abalone shell for a week in my room. What should I do with the remainder? Should I just burn the rest of the smudge stick it off? Then what do I do with the ashes? Since water is said to be pure and spiritual I was thinking maybe just put the ashes in a water bottle and pour it into grass or dirt somewhere representing me giving that energy back to the earth? Then what do I do with the little inch (or less) of smudge stick left? It didn't feel right to just throw it in the garbage.

Thanks!

Compost?
Why do you need to cleanse you crystals?

I'm guessing you're talking about white sage? Are you in America?

Well I've had them for a while and only cleansed them when I first got them. I had ordered more and I wanted to cleanse them before I started using them so I did those plus my whole collection. Yes, white sage smudge sticks and I am in America. Why would that matter? Smudging doesn't take place in other countries? I read on many crystal websites that smudging was one of the ways in which crystals can be cleansed. The smoke that comes from burning white sage is said to cleanse any energies whether they are unwanted, negative, etc. from any object or dwelling and in this case crystals.

I asked about where you live because it's a good idea to use local smudge - especially if you grow it yourself. If you're in America (at least, the parts where white sage grows) that's not a problem.

I work shamanically, so my attitude to crystals is different (and tends to annoy). I'm also concerned about the ecological aspects of crystal mining. That tends to annoy as well.

I actually do grow sage, but I'm not sure if its white sage (it has larger, rounded, soft leaves almost like there's peach fuzz on them). Plus I had the crystals already and I wanted to use them as soon as I could so I ordered the smudge sticks online.

By the way- is this thread in the wrong section? Should it be in Mystical- Spiritual or Psychic?

Sometimes the thread content is quite loose. I think it's fine in either forum.

Clean the ashes etc and Put the remainder back on the soil. Earth cleanses recycles and regenerates everything. Same with smudge sticks. Garden is the best place for the, Keep everything simple in your mind. Water is no more spiritual than earth or vice versa. Simplicity itself is profound wisdom.
