I'm looking to reduce the amount of kit that I carry around for mobile treatments and particularly want to put an end to lugging around my cd player and selection of cds.
I have an iphone and am considering buying a small portable docking station which I think will be a great solution.I've already downloaded a number of my cds to itunes.
So I'm interested in your advice guys. Have any of you gone this route? Do you have any recommendations for a good decent sounding unit for the iphone?
Thanks
I got one last year in the Comet sale - £14.99 and sounds almost as good as my daugthers Bose system which cost her £130!! Recommend you take your iPod to one of the stores and ask to listen to the quality - some of the ones I tried for £50 were not as good as the one I ended up with!
I use an Ipod shuffle whith small docking station so much better than lugging CD and lots of disks round. Might take a wee while to put all you music on the phone but it is worth it
I have an iPod that I use only for therapy music and have a JBL Radial Micro dock which I got half price through Amazon and is the best sound I have found. I also have one at home which I bought from PC World where you can listen to your own iPod on the one on display, so I knew what I was getting. I would never buy one without listening to my music on it first as some of them, even the more expensive ones, are really poor quality.
Hi, I like to use my iphone and just play music out of the built-in speakers. Quite good quality and def loud enough! Just bring the charger cos the batteries not great. xox
I have an ipod, but I just use a gadget thing where the ipod sits on it and then there is small speakers and it runs off the power of the i-pod, I do have an i-pod docking station as well, but I use the gadget thing in the treatment room.
Do be aware if you are playing music in a public place that you have a licence for it. I use relaxing music for clients and do hold a licence to play that music.
Thanks everyone for your input, its been very helpful.
I spent a lot of time looking around to see what was available. Tried out some in stores with my iphone but was disappointed with the sound. In desperation I went onto amazon and looked at reviews. Came up with a model with heaps of recommendations so plumped for it and havent been disappointed. It's ACE!
I decided on a small ipod docking unit that is mains powered. It even charges my iphone while its playing and can also run on batteries. It is tiny- about the size and shape of the inside of a toilet roll but it packs a lovely sound and has a weeny remote control too. It all fits in a pencil case so very easy to transport. I'm well pleased 😀
TracyHealing- thats what I have been doing but wanted to be able to adjust volume remotely. I'm going a wee bit muttonjeff and always manage to set volume too high at onset of treatment and then realise its way too loud after a few minutes 😮
AtlanticPearl- yes I know about the ppl issue, thank you.
