Hi
A client was asking me about this therapy he had years ago called Catsumi. I have never even heard of it and Google is coming up blank. He said he was treated by a sensei so I guess it is Eastern and the sensei corrected two slipped discs so it must me some kind of manipulation rather than energy therapy. Anyone have any ideas or insight?
Looking forward to any responses.
Could it be Katsumi kai or ki as described here?
Thank you for the reply, having spoken to the person that had the treatment, he is adamant that that is not it. He said the guy spent four hours manipulating his spine and put two slipped discs back in place. It was definately very manual. I appreciate you investigating though. The mystery deepens...
4 hours??? Where was this done?
At his home in Croydon (the recipient's home). The whole story is unusual and the person in question isn't one who is prone to fantasy. He said he hurt his back, called an ambulance and was taken to hospital. They diagnosed two slipped discs and told him he'd have to lie on his back solidly for three months. The volunteer who took him home from hospital said he was a Sensei, did the work on him then told him to walk 2 miles everyday for the next week. The first day it took him 5 hours, the next day slightly less and he just had pain he could cope with after a few weeks. He has been unable to trace this guy since and asked if I knew anything about it as he's been desperate to get in touch and say thank you.
What an odd story but nice. However I am left wondering about this mysterious man. In some ways his behaviour is highly unethical......and to vanish into the blue leaving a client with no way to contact him in case of problems is not good . .....
Many many years (1977) ago, having fallen down some stairs and hurt my back I was recommended, by a friend, to a chap who did 'healing' - he asked for a donation as he said he couldn't charge anyone for his "gift". When I asked what he considered a donation, he said 'about £20, to cover my overheads.' (£20 was half my weekly wage!).
I don't know what he did, but it worked - I think it may have been a sort of shiatsu, as I was on my tummy on a folded blanket on his sitting room floor, whilst he was on his knees beside me, using his whole body weight to lean on my back.
Sometimes people come along at the right time and do something amazing, never to be seen again.
However, if the volunteer hospital driver is still doing manipulation on members of the public - I hope he's insured!
You both raise valid points, that I whole hearted lay agree with. Luckily this guy did not charge or take a donation but the person in question is a very vulnerable adult with communication difficulties.
I'm just so intrigued that I can't find anything about this therapy at all.
