this has arrived today along with a few other things i havent used before. now i need a bit of advice. just put some on my hand to see the texture and smell and the smell is disgusting. to me it smells like meat/meat fat. at a guess i would say bacon but im not sure (im vegetarian) do you think the oil has gone off or does it smell like that? in the bottle it isnt too bad but maybe it is just reacting to my skin or something? and no my skin doesnt have that smell!!!

no you're right, it's clearly rancid. My borage oil just smells slightly vegetably. Which supplier did you use? I've had hideously rancid flax oil from Holland & Barrett, & they tried to tell me that's how it smells! (I now get it out of the fridge at The Bran Tub and it's find!)

I've not used it and was tempted to buy some yesterday.
Sounds nasty, hope you're able to get a full refund?

Sounds rancid to me. Borage oils has a short shelf life (about 6 months), so it's wise to always buy smaller bottles unless you know you're going to use it quickly. I buy mine from Aromantic as they add vitamin E oil to thiers which preserves it for longer.
