I thought I'd do a bit of a detox before Christmas and bought some Detox flower essence - but although I feel quite positive in one respect I'm feeling I'm having a bit of a reaction to it - bit like a homeopathic aggravation.
I took two separate doses on my tongue on Wednesday and on Thursday felt a bit jittery and on edge that seemed to come in waves. It settled down as the day went on then Thursday night took two drops in a glass of water.
Today I'm feeling again a bit edgy, racy heart which seems to get a bit worse which seems to signal "bowel movement" then it settles down a bit - happened twice this morning. Seems to keep coming and going and not there all the time.

I'm probably getting a good bowel detox as it's making me go to the toilet - but wasn't expecting that it would do that - thought it would flush it through the kidneys.

Should I stop taking it for a while and then restart after a few days. I've never took these before so it's all new - wish homeopathy I knew how to stop a bad reaction but I'm not sure with these you just have to wait till it wears off.

Can anyone give me advice - I won;t take any more obviously but anything I can do to get over the bad bits at the moment.

Hi,
It sounds like the detox is working! But if the reaction is strong and unpleasant I would hold off from taking any more for the time being, as you have done and wait until you feel you can try again.
Here is a link talking about healing crisis with flower essences which is usually emotional in nature, but it makes sense I suppose that if you are taking them for physical conditions to have a physical reaction.

I have experienced healing crisis with flower essences, and it can be unpleasant.
Rescue remedy is brilliant by the way for helping to restore calm and balance if you are feeling jittery or on edge as you described.

Thanks for that the crisis only lasted a couple of days and by Sat was feeling a lot better really impressed with the flower essence as never used them before. So wonder if you can help me with my next question and is this a phase of the healing process. i didnt take them yesterday as I felt really bloated an all over feeling of my full body. But I was taking a digestive enzyme for a few days and i'm not sure it wasn't that that had caused it. i know when i take probiotics first four days I'm unbloated then I get feeling of total body bloat so wondering if again it was the DE/

Would the flower essence give me this feeling of total bloat or the DE caused it took neither Tuesday.

I really don't know the answer to that sorry, but I wouldn't expect to get a bloated feeling with floweressences but then I have also taken DE and probiotics in the past, and don't recall getting bloated with those either.
Sorry I can't answer that on for you. (are you drinking enough BTW)

Thanks for that - i have more success with a probiotic yoghurt than tablet form and every time i take probiotic in tablet form I seem to bloat up all over after about 4 days. Not sure if it would settle down if i continued but it gets so bad that I tend to stop. Just wondering of DE is doing the same. I can't take a DE if it has papaya in because for some reason papaya and brolain always make my boobs blow up huge and its something to do with them being estrogenic foods.

I love green tea but find that bloats me also. So I was asking would it be the flower essence - I don't think it would and I'm thinking it's the DE but i'd love to know.

Anywhere I could ask further for info on this.

How long does the healing crisis last. Friday and Saturday I felt pretty yuk on the morning running to the loo a lot but then it was a detox then after that I was fine. But Sunday night I felt I had a very dry throat and during the night it turned to being sore so though i was going down with a cold - however, I have had since then a real bad head and a sore throat that seems to be worse on a morning and a night but no cold has materialised. Today I've just felt headachey, bit dizzy thick throat like catarrah but still no runny nose - is this something else like a virus etc. or I'm wondering is it part of the healing crisis. I feel really full of hell too which is not like me! But then I hate being ill and especially when I was so ready for a break from work and looking forward to being on holiday. I've read up on flower essence today and I'm now just wondering is is part of the healing process - I thought Friday and Saturday was just that - a bit of an aggravation but by the afternoon was full of beans and great mood. But today Im wondering when a cold hasn't materialised - I've not taken any more remedy since Monday so if it is - how long will the crisis last?

Hi again,
Wondering if the detox essence has kick-started this reaction, but maybe it is not the whole problem and you were a bit run down to begin with.
It sounds like to need to take a bit of time out for yourself and sometimes the only way our bodies can ensure we do that is by making us feel so bad we just have to stop and rest.
I can only speak for myself but whenever I have had a reaction to a flower essence it has always been psychological rather than physical and never lasted longer than a couple of days.
Sorry I can't be more helpful

Perhaps you are right as I have worked in July with no time out so really ready for the holiday. And I've been in an office with 5 people having cold prior to Christmas and was amazed I wasn't catching.

I do think I've got some sort of virus but maybe the detox has chucked it out - if I think back I was the weekend before Christmas feeling headachey and just not right but seemed to pick up again by work on MOnday.

I do have to say though when I took this detox I did feel good after an initial 2 wobbly mornings as the day went on the wobblies went.

If I restart the remedy will I get another reaction like this and how long should I leave it - I would like to give it another go.

I think when I did take it I was much more emotional than I normally am - so perhaps that was the other side of the remedy throwing it out and I felt like I was perhaps more tolerant of others - certainly my mood and feeling incredibly happy with it!

Thanks for helping. Do you use essences a lot?
