For practitioners of Feng Shui there is a metaphysical exercise based on the Bagua octogon used in Feng Shui called Bagua Chuan that according to legend was practiced by mountain shaman for no one knows how long. Where Feng Shui works on aligning the energy around us Bagua circle walking aligns the energy within us and is sometimes called the relative of Tai Chi Chuan. For each of the trigrams of the octogon there is a flowing walking movement much like water and the wind. This system was kept secret until recent times.

Hi ya JB

There is also a Qigong exercise called "Monkey Walk" where you walk around the bagua to balance internal energy. It's in Qigong for Health & Vitality by Michael Tse and in his video Balancing Gong. I have experimented with this exercise and it feels that it has a spiralling but centring effect. I think in his video Tse says that you should do the exercise in the same area to build up energy.

Best Wishes

Interesting information on Michael Tse, Reiki Pixie I saw a special on him once that was very good. I wonder if it is associated with the monkey walking in the Bagua Chuan? I have also heard use of the same spot to build an energy vortex. One of my favorite books on the subject is Paul Cromptons " Walking Meditation".
