Does anyone know where you should stand when you are finding th diections of each room - is it the middle of the room or at the door entrance to the room? I've always stood in the middle of the room but i'm not sure i'm in the right place as they say to stand at the front door when doing the directions for your home?

Hi Raphael-
I take the compass direction for the house (taken from the front door looking out) and then draw up the bagua to see which direction each room falls into. I never take individual directions in each room, although if you wanted to, it shouldn't really make a difference whether you take it from the doorway or the middle of the room.:)

Thanks amorillum,

It is good having a feng shui forum because i think a lot of people, including myself are interested in the subject. There are so many books out there about the subject that it can get confusing. How long have u been interested in the subject?

Hi ya

It can be confusing whether to focus on the compass to create a bagua or superimpose the bagua from the main entrance of the house (or the room). I think it depends how deeply you wish to get into this, whether on the macro or micro level. I personally think a lot depends on intention to balance.

I used to be really into Feng Shui but haven't bothered with it for a long time. Having this new forum has stimulated my interest again.

Cheers

Reiki Pixie

I have done a bagau of my house but apparantly doing the individual rooms as well intensifies what you are intending to do - whether it be trying to increase your wealth, get a new job etc.

What do you mean when you say 'your intention to balance'. What would you want the feng shui to achieve for you?

Going by your name - Reiki Pixie' - do you practice Reiki? Hope you don't mind me asking.
Thanks
Raphael

Hi Raphael-
I've been interested in Feng Shui for the best part of 10 years and now practice part-time (people's homes) My special interest is in space clearing.

I read a book on space clearing by Karen KIngstone ? and it was really good.
I base my feng shui on that principal myself and advise friends and collegues that they should do space clearing if they are want new things coming into their lifes and clear personal problems. Do you do the spiritual side of it as well?

Hi ya Raphael

Yes I do practice Reiki, not as much as I like. It was the first therapy I qualified in and many of my friends still call me Reiki Dave. When a client finds out that I also practice Deep Tissue & Thai Yoga Massage they usually buy that service. It doesn't matter what I practice, what is important is the results. I'm also a Tai Chi & Qi Gong teacher as well.

On the subject of Reiki, it is possible to use Reiki techniques (with the symbols) in space clearing and Feng Shui.

As for intention to create balance, I think that the beauty of Feng Shui, Reflexology, Acupuncture, Reiki, Tai Chi etc etc etc is that they are trying to create homeostasis or if you prefer - balance. Since in Chinese philosophy Qi (energy) follows Yi (thoughts), the "intention" to change the flow of energy is the most important part of the equation.

Hope that makes sense.

Cheers

Hi Raphael-
I'm an energy worker- I practice and teach a form of chakra and auric healing called CHIOS, which works on the energy fields in and around the body. (as well as a little Reiki and Quantum Touch) I have pretty much the same approach to Feng Shui, and do, as you say 'do the spiritual side' of it as well, yes.

Reiki

Hi Reiki Pixie,

I did a bit of thai- chi when i did a 'Body Balance' class (yoga, thai chi and pilates) and really enjoyed the thai chi part of it so I am going to look for a thai chi class around where i live.

I use my Reiki symbols around my home and use them to heal, energise and clear negativity - you can definatly feel the change in the energy. I have become alot more aware of the differances in energy in the last few years.
The energy in my home is good, but the energy in my Reiki Masters house is really good - very light, but then she does alot of mantas, prostrations etc.
as well as using the reiki symbols etc. when I clear all my clutter and clean the house i can feel the differance of energy. I think that what i need to do is apply a couple of feng shui principals in a room and see if i can feel the differance in the energy - is that what you would do?

I did my Reiki Masters about 3 years ago. I do a bit of healing and some distance healing for people i know, but i haven't had the confidence to get out there and advertise my services yet. I have been doing alot of healing on myself. I will be moving home this year and will have a room to use as my 'healing' room. I have the healing bed already. I love doing healing but i also like to try and find out what's going on emotionally for people to have created the physical problem in the first place. I enjoy the communication side of things.

Hi Amorillium

I was just saying to Reiki Pixie that I have become more aware of energy in recent years.

I have never heard of 'chios' - does it work in a similar way to Reiki? I will have to read about it. Would you use it whilst doing reiki on someone?
do you use it whilst doing your space clearing?

I can really feel the change in energy when i have done some space clearing - lovely and light. It also has a very strong effect on me and I start 'clearing' as well. Does that happen to you? Do you go around the house you are clearing with your hands to feel the energy? I tried doing that and i could feel the differances in the energy.

I am moving this year and intend going into the new house and clearing the energy first and blessing it. What would you do if you sere going into a new home - hope you don't mind me asking.
