Hello,
It's been a while since I posted here. I've had enormous successes with using EFT on myself thanks to the community here (Cheers 😉 ). Now I have started focussing on surrogate tapping.
I'm familiar with how to do it and everything but the whole concept of me tapping on myself and benefiting someone else doesn't bode to well with me.
I was looking for some inspiration from you guys perhaps you could direct me as to whether I should use it or not...? I have tried my hands at tapping for someone else but I can never know whether I've succeeded or not.
Any stories all you tapping experts might want to share with me as to whether it's effective or not?
Thank you folks!
I used to be a scientist so found the concept of tapping for someone else a difficult thing to accept.. However over the years I've seen many interesting results which I cannot explain away as a coincidence or placebo effect.
One of my very first experiences of surrogate tapping (at the time when I was a hardened sceptic still) was a group EFT session for a friend's cat who had lost his purr two years previously. He just suddenly stopped purring, and no amount of stroking, playing, favourite foods etc made any difference - there was a stony silence from Max. Vet suggested it was probably stress so all the efforts were made to minimise any possible stresses to the cat. New toys were obtained, more cuddles were given, homeopathy was resorted to, and nothing.
When we did the surrogate tap for Max (I should note that he was not present at the time in the room or in the building - we were many miles away from his location), no-one in the group took it particularly seriously (that included me and the cat's owner). But guess what - within a few days Max started purring again! He hasn't shut up since - I see him a couple of times a year when visiting my friend and the cat is an unstoppable purring machine!
This is just one of many examples I've seen where surrogate tapping seemed to produce results. Obviously without proper research and trials (and who would be prepared to fund this???) it is impossible to tell whether there was any connection between surrogate EFT and the apparent resurrection of Max's purr, but with this and many other cases I have come across something seems to be happening.
One explanation could be that the tapping impacts on the animal owner (or family member/friend if we are talking about surrogate tapping for humans!) and as their energy field will be closely connected with that of their pet/family member/friend, the changes in that will impact the energy of the "surrogatee" (not sure if I've just invented this word?)
On the other hand, it also makes quite a lot of sense in the context of Rupert Sheldrake's morphic field theory
One thing that seems fairly certain - surrogate tapping appears to be completely harmless - even if the healing is not requested or not wished for by the recipient, the worst thing that may happen is that it simply won't work - for example it seems to "bounce off" if a well-meaning (but misguided) friend or family member taps for a person close for them with their own agenda, e.g. in an attempt to change (i.e. manipulate) their behaviour.
Gwyneth Moss does some really good one-day courses on surrogate EFT, well worth attending if you get a chance
There are also a few practitioners who specialise in tapping for horses, e.g.

Fantastic, thanks again Masha. Thanks for taking your time to validate its effectiveness for me.
What an interesting thread! I have never heard of surrogate EFT. However as a reiki practitioner I am familiar with the idea of distance healing. My scientific head has a lot of problems with THAT concept at times!!
BUT distance reiki, surrogate tapping, prayer - they are all ways of our intention on a person or animal to help them. For me they are different ways of harnessing the healing power of the universe when it is needed.
It doesn't matter WHAT technique you use - it is the intention that matters.
I hope the cat is still happily purring away
I've done surrogate tapping for a cat before too.
The owner just left me and the cat alone, and I just brought myself into wholeness (at one with) the cat and tapped on myself based on the emotions that arose. The cat was obviously troubled (it was a rescue cat) and the results were a recognisable improvement according to the owner who I spoke to some time later.
All Love and Reiki Hugs
Have just finished teaching Level 2 EFT course here in Pilimathalawa (I am working in Sri Lanka at the moment), and thought I'd share a couple of pics I took of my students, most of whom are Christian reverends, tapping on teddies, bunnies and other creatures in a surrogate EFT exercise 🙂
We had some fun!
