I'd just like to sing the praises of EFT. I recently underwent a number of operations and EFT along with valium allowed me to get through them.
But today I'm really proud of myself. I have suffered for 15 years with severe anxiety attacks when having to face injections/bloods being taken, basically mention a needle and I'd go all "funny". Today I had blood taken, without 1) screaming and crying, 2) trying to run away or crawl under a table, 3) without valium, 4) without someone there to hold my hand. I have EFT to thank for this.
I joined a EFT group and downloaded their free elearning EFT book. I've been practicing this everyday since I saw the GP last week and being advised that a blood test was required.
IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!
So excited and happy I had to share.

EFT all the way:):):) and its free:D
It is fabulous indeed!
I would not be without it, for myself or my clients.
I don't see it as panacea as it doesn't suit some people, but for the majority it is wonderfully beneficial. And I love the "democratic" nature of it, as it doesn't have to be "done to you" but can be self-applied, and it is so accessible.
At the EFT Gathering 2010 a couple of weeks ago we recorded a tribute to Gary Craig, with many conference participants doing a brief video message for Gary - I can't tell you how touching all of those were, some very funny, some profound, but all deeply appreciative for the fantastic tool which Gary shared with the world so generously.

As Masha says, Emotional Freedom Technique is the most brilliant tool - however odd it may appear to be, the results speak for themselves. As far as I am aware no other healing tool has such fantastic positive results. If everyone was made aware of it I'm sure the NHS bill would halve at least - and big pharma would be fuming!!!
For anyone who is unaware of EFT and its benefits, go to Gary Craig's website and read the reports, watch the vidos - noticing facial expressions of those being treated, and download the free basic manual. Gary's website is not going to available for much longer, sadly. It has been a fantastic resource. Gary's generosity has been enormous in allowing the world to learn this tool at such a basic rate. Thank you Gary for your generosity. Keep tapping!!!

In fact, EFT is very, very similar in the process and the results obtained to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing), which is recommended by National Instituted for Clinical Excellence for treatment of post traumatic stress disorders - with EFT having a different processing "ritual" and a number of advantages: it is much more accessible to general public (to train in EMDR you have to be a registered mental health professional), much cheaper to learn, can be used for self-help, doesn't have many contra-indications (EMDR has quite a few), can be used "on the go" - anywhere and with anyone (hence the term "tapping tart" coined by one of my colleagues), and is seemingly rather gentler than EMDR.
In terms of introducing it into NHS, my colleagues and I in EFT research group are working hard to gather some good quality data to show evidence of its efficacy (as you can imagine, no chance of funding from big pharma, so everything is done on a shoe-string!). If any EFT practitioners on HP are interested in contributing to the research, p.m. me and I can send you some details.

Interested in learning EFT
I find this therapy quite fascinating and would like to do a course. I have a book and have used it successfully on myself. Can you tell me if this is a therapy that you have to be qualified to practise or, if I'm having a chat with someone and mention that it worked for me, I would be allowed to explain the procedure or would I just perhaps recommend a book for them to read.
sure, it is fine to share your experiences with friends, and to tell them the tapping points, and to go through a few rounds of EFT with them .
IMO if you plan to work with this professionally, then training is a pre-requisite.

Many non-therapists use EFT successfully for self-help and to support friends and family - some people do learn well from books and videos though for me personally practical training is a must. But as long as you don't advertise yourself as an expert, by all means share what you know of EFT with others - however if you are charging people for your services, you would need insurance to practice EFT and I would definitely recommend getting qualified.
If you are recommending books to people, apart Gary Craig's free manual an excellent choice would be Helena Fone's "EFT for Dummies" - this is the EFT book I would have been proud to write myself if I stopped procrastinating! (tap, tap, tap...) 😉
