Hi

I've got my EFT course this weekend and have been looking forward to it, but I've been reading some of the threads on here and it seems like maybe I will be wasting my money.

People are saying that Freeway CER is much better than EFT and talk about EFT failing. Would I be better off just doing a freeway CER course and forgetting about EFT?

Yeah we trained with Dez - he was awful! *hide* Tobe honest, results with EFT have just gotten better and better - the DVDs are an amazing help for anyone using any meridian tool. One day we'll have a Freeway equivalent of his tours showing practitioners how to better improve their results.. I don't believe the current DVD sets are as thorough at present. Mind you we're doing a pretty good job of the case studies so far!

LOL!!!

Not planning to see him in the near future then?

Well done with the case studies, sounds like you've got to grips with it, if you do get stuck at all (which seems unlikely) give me a shout. Although I'm off to New York on Saturday so I will not be responding to anyone while I'm there.......;)

Thanks Bernie - you're a star!

Seeing as we've wholly threadjacked, Lim I wondered, when you're back from your course, how was it? Did you learn lots? I think Giles would agree the EFT course was pretty earthshattering when we did it..

Hi

Just got back from the EFT course. I wish I could say that it was earth shattering, or special or something but I can't. Don't get me wrong, the teacher was lovely, as was the group I just wasn't feeling it I guess. I saw a few people clear some really massive issues, but it was nothing that I hadn't seen before while using certain techniques with Reiki.

I suppose I was just not as impressed or amazed as I wanted to be, but I will reserve judgement until I have practiced a lot more on myself and friends etc. I didn't really have anything amazing happen myself.

Hi Lim,

The problem with some courses is that people can sometimes be a bit shy about sharing their own issues to practice on, especially when you're likely to be discussing it in a group afterwards, so you probably didn't get to see the full effects.

Like you say, once you've given it some more practice and used it on a few 'real' people, you'll notice how beneficial the techniques can be. Also, as Gussie said above, the DVD's are a really good source of extra information and techniques.

Hi Lim,

What level did you learn on your eft course.?
I am still faily new to EFT , having learnt Level 1 earlier this year. I have to say that I am very impressed by this technique and am wanting to further my knowledge as I am sure I have a whole lot more to learn.

I would be interested in knowing how you get on.

By the way I hope I am in the right place for the not so experienced EFT ers. Do tell me if im not , I would not and I will make my way to wherever.

RE: EFT Waste of money?

ThankyouEnergylz that makes me feel very welcome.. mwaa x

I have only joined today and have acquired some new knowledge of variousdifferent techniques and made enquiries. I am overwhelmed with the amoount of different course available . I have to say I am a little confused now[:o]as to which way to go.

I have only learned EFT level 1 , which was earlier this year . Would it be advisable to continue with EFT and complete the trainings first, Or move on to others and have more under my belt. The others I have been looking at is TAT- Emotrance and Freeway.

Will I gain and does it matterif I jump from one to the other????????/

Hi Davine

If you feel comfortable using EFT and it resonates well with you then by all means continue with the training, Dez from this forum isan excellenttrainer and is also in your area. As far as learning other therapies is concerned I would advise you to take time to calm your mind, yes there are a lot of techniques out there, listen to your intuition and it will guide you to the ones that are right for you. Trust your inner voice it usually steers you in the right direction.

I agree with Bernie, if you've found EFTbeneficial so far then progress with that as a Practitioner and when you are feeling comfortable treating clients and want to expand your "toolbox" you can look and see what feels right for you. If you're unsure then you could always try a session of each thing yourself and speak with the relevant trainers to get an idea of what is involved (content, cost and time wise).

RE: EFT Waste of money?

I agree with the others, take the pace and format you need in order to progress, there is no right or wrong route to do it, it's a very individual thing, do what feels right, take from it what you need, absorb all you can, understand what you're able to absorb.. if you need to progress to the next level then do so, but never feel compelled by others to take it further or take something different if it doesn't sit right with you.

As Giles has already said, we're all learning here, even the most experienced therapist is a newbie to something, so never think you don't have experience to post you may have some insight that they are looking for but never happened upon.

Welcome to hp. 🙂

RE: EFT Waste of money?

Oooh more intrigued now about the Freeway-Cer. I hope I can wait till next year for Dez's course!

Lim, it was your teacher's responsibility to get you to feel that you got what you wanted out of it, and more than with Reiki. I must admit, I am unhappy with reports about some EFT Masters and their teaching. Just this week, I had a Level 2 practitioner get in touch who has not been taught the basics of what I feel a professional should know. But these basics are not in the Level 2 requirements, so I cannot fault the teacher for teaching the minimum required. Last week, I learned that somebody who admitted to me last year that they fell below the time requirement for EFT has become an EFT Master. I was left thinking "have I imagined our conversation?". I don't know, maybe I misunderstood. Having said that, I don't fault EFT itself as a process, rather that the title "Master" only means a certain standard of doing EFT therapy on a client. I still intend to apply next February when I will have honestly done my time. At the end of the day, personal recommendation and talking to your teacher or their representative before a course is still your best bet at getting the right one for your individual needs. If you want to put your experience right, just PM me and I'll point you in the right direction.

RE: EFT Waste of money?

Hi

Thanks everyone for your replies.

I would just like to say that I don't think the teacher was to blame at all. All the information was given in a great manner and was fully explained. I feel comfortable practicing EFT with others and I have had some great results when working with others on the course and also when working with my partner. My problem is that I don't seem to get the results (or they are certainly not as noticable) when I am working on myself.

I think that the problem does lie with me, maybe I just don't notice things as much. I will continue to work on myself though as I realise I am new to this and hope to have some good news to post soon.

I would like to say though that I did think the teacher did a great job....

So I will be tapping on

even though I feel that eft does not work for me and I don't seem to notice any difference, I truly and deeply accept myself.

Hi Lim

Just a thought. When you are working on yourself are you focussing as strongly on the issues as you would encourage your clients to do when working with them? I know it was a problem I had, using it on myself, that I would get bored with doing the long tapping routineand not check properly that things were completely cleared.

To have result you need fully and totally believe in this. I don’t. So personally for me this is clear waste of time, money.
