The recently formed UK EFT Research Group is compiling a database of EFT practitioners with the view to gathering clinical evidence of EFT efficacy (yes, we may know that it works a treat, but it takes different type of evidence to convince the sceptics!). We hope that EFT will eventually become freely available on the NHS, but to achieve that, good quality research studies are essential.

If you are interested in supporting EFT Research Group - e.g. by taking part in conducting the studies, helping with admin etc, you can register at

I received EFT on the NHS, so I think there are practitioners out there who work as councillors for the NHS who provide this therapy. Or maybe I was just lucky that my GP surgery provided it in their centre.

I'm certainly keen to see it provided to many more people as it certainly helped me and continues to do so.

That's great that you've been able to get EFT on the NHS! Which trust was it with, if you don't mind sharing? There are a few of them around the country - I think this mostly depends on local management - if they are sufficiently open-minded and not averse to innovative therapies, they may allow for a range of promising new approaches to be used - however most of the NHS resources are allocated to be spent on "evidence based practice" in accordance with NICE guidelines, so until we have a sufficient volume of good quality evidence, EFT will probably remain a rarity on the NHS.

I'm within the Northamptonshire NHS Trust catchment.

I do hope that it becomes more widely available

I've given many workshops to different regions regarding NHS Trusts. The workshops have been for their own CAMH'S Teams. These therapists are trained in psychotherapy or psychology, but find EFT easier to teach their clients.

That will be the biggest battle to get this wonderful technique into the mainstream. Already qualified psychotherapists etc are attaching this technique to their required skills and knowledge. However, we know there is more to EFT than just tapping.

Thats great - EFT is the most amazing technique. I personally struggle to get it accepted in the mainstream areas but I am chipping away. The research collection data form is a brilliant idea 🙂
