Hi,
I've been making some great progress with EFT, I've got a couple of people I'm working with now and I absolutely love it.
I was looking for some advice about how to introduce the topic to my mum. She has been suffering from really severe dizziness where the room spins round and keeps getting these attacks where she feels like she is falling through the floor and it makes her scream out loud.
It comes and goes, she has had loads of tests for various things but the results haven't been able to pinpoint the cause. She has been given a low dose of tranquilizers to calm the electrical part of her brain which she has been told is causing these shocks but told they may take a month to work.
It's the bit about the electrical stuff that make me think EFT could help here. She's a very stressy person and gets very worked up about the smallest things.
I was thinking about starting globally using phrases such as:
Even though I feel dizzy...
Even though the room spins...
Even though I feel like I'm falling through the floor...
to take the edge off, then try and find out what is bothering her at the moment, what issues come up.
Has anyone got any other ideas for set up statement and or what I could replace the 'deeply and completely love and accept myself' bit with. I can't see her saying that at the moment as she hates all touchy-feely / 'new-age' stuff 🙂
btw this will all have to be over the phone as we live 200 miles away from each other.
RE: EFT for dizziness + alternative endings
Ask her to put it in her own words. i.e. "how do you feel just before and when this happens to you?" and work from there.
As for the "deeply and completely accept myself" bit, just try using "I choose to be ok".

RE: EFT for dizziness + alternative endings
After all that she doesn't want to try it because "the dizziness is not really a problem"!!!
I think I'll wait till I see her then gently mention it again....
At least I tried.
RE: EFT for dizziness + alternative endings
Well you can't make someone do something they're not comfortable with, especially if it's not in person.
The dizziness will be a problem, but if she believes that there's something else, then perhaps you need to try and get to the root cause of what she believes it is and work on that instead. Then you may find the dizziness goes away. If she's anything like my mother then you won't be getting the full picture anyway cos they don't want to feel like they're bothering you with their worries.
Try and reassure her that EFT doesn't hurt in any way, and if she finds it's not working for her after a few goes then she doesn't have to continue. A little gentle bargaining sometimes does the trick. 😉
I wish you well, and hope that you mum gets better soon.

i would get it investigated if it has notbeen already, what does her gp think about it.
having said that just oofer to do a few founds with her to see if it helps
do, i accept myself instead of deeply and completely.
after a few rounds slip in the deeply and completely bit
RE: EFT for dizziness + alternative endings
thanks
the doctors don't know what causes it, she's been having tests for the last couple of years.
I'm going to wait until I see her as it will be easier to introduce EFT that way than over the phone
thanks for your help
