I'm loving EFT at the mo as well! I've been using it in all sorts of ways, and feel like it's really helping. I'd definitely be interested to see how you get on with it. I might join you and see how much weight I can put on 🙂 For me that'd be more of a tapping for motivation to workout / improve confidence to lift more... type of thing!

If anyone else wants to join in on this, set up your skype and we can chat,I am quite confident in my EFT abilities so if I can be of any assistance to anyone please skype me.EFT and weightloss is very successfull, I used to be on 80-85% raw food and the weight fell off me but then that was unsustainable and as my dad gets older and is no longer able to take care of himself there is lots of emotional eating and lots of carbs. being consumed so the weight piled on.Now its time to work on the emotional issues underneath as my health is going to suffer.
So hopefully we will get some interested members to do this:)

Since doing my EFT training in september i now cannot eat chocolate , not that I was a big chocolate fiend but the stuff makes me feel sick now. However I have been trying EFT on my addiction to ice lollies. I have been addicted to recket lollies for about 3 years and eat almost 40 per week the eft isnt helping at the moment.
I do need to lose weight and was thinking about starting a healthy eating plan so would be up for working along with you start (having a tapping buddy would be good too!):)

Hi Trina! I was just wondering (and I'm sure someone will know more about this than me)... if someone habitually chews ice / ice cubes, it tends to be a symptom of low iron. Is there any chance that the ice lolly addiction is related?

It's a bit of an off-the-wall suggestion, I know, but it just popped into my head 😉

Ok, I have got my healthy low calorie plan done and should safely see me loose 2/3 lbs a week.I also have my exercise plan which is not too rigid.

So I will be using EFT for the following

1. Sticking with the plan, not the usual 2 day diet and give up

2.Avoiding binges of Carbs.

3.Sticking with my exercise plan

4.Not getting discouraged etc

It will be interesting to see what comes up and what has had me yoyo dieting over the years:)

It's great that you are setting goals. I would suggest that you word these goals in a positive manner, as we get what we focus on. Write each one so that it is specific, and positive. E.g.

1. Sticking with the plan, not the usual 2 day diet and give up
Enjoying my healthy eating and sticking to it easily and effortlessly.

2.Avoiding binges of Carbs.
Eating all categories of food in balance, only when I am physically hungry.

3.Sticking with my exercise pan
Naturally incorporating exercise into my everyday lifestyle.

4.Not getting discouraged etc
Being full of enthusiasm and motivation at the positive life giving changes.

Note your inner dialogue - ensure that you are mindful that this is positive, uplifting and encouraging. Focus on health, life giving changes, not deprivation and lack. xx

My little girl wanted to choose a smilie face to put at the end!! :dogrun::eeeK:

Hi Vanessa, what you have mentioned will be great when I move onto the Choices method and instill the positive, for now I would like to clear the negative first, thats just the way I personally would like to approach it:)

Ok so I have not got very far, I just could not resist the brown bread and lots of butter and 2 biscuits and have not gone for my walk either.

I now have a slice of brown bread and a biscuit in front of me and I am going to tap for the 'taste', 'sight' and 'smell' of these foods, also for the fact that I am disappointed in ME at the moment.:(

Not sure if posting here is of any interest to people, perhaps I am writing to myself :D, but here goes.

Did the tapping on the brown bread, the smell brought me back to my mother who was the home baker of all bakers, if I came home from school after having a bad day you would smell the fresh bread and eating it dampened down all the problems so down down with them, the deeper the better and move on, not knowing it would all erupt again in later life.I also realised I eat it very fast as if there is an urgency to get rid of the emotion. The main emotions coming up are 'rejection', 'sadness' 'lonliness'.
Well on with more tapping, talk later, if ye are interested ?

Well Im glad someone is getting some benefits.

Tapped away and then tasted a biscuit and it actually tastes better than it did before, which can happen so lots more tapping there to do:)

The brown bread looks quite stodgy now so I just dont want it, another good thing about EFT is you do not need to use will power, once you reach the core issues you just dont have that craving, you have the choice to eat it or not.
Having worked away on the emotions which came up it surprised me to know I had so much stuff still there but Im ok with that.

Another revelation, I remember growing up whenever we tried to do anything, not just in the kitchen we would be told we were making a mess and to get out SO the foods I reach for are quick, a slice of bread with butter and topped with cheese is quick to prepare.I only cook when necessary so to prepare healthy meals for myself I just try to avoid it 🙁

Be back later to keep everyone updated 🙂

Hi all, Im still here and doing really well, having released so much emotional issues underneath my eating routine. The following are some of the issues which came up for me.

When there is food in front of you it has to be eaten, you must not waste it

Food is a reward which is why having cleaned the house, treated a client or whatever was always rewarded with food even though I was not hungry at the time

Having control (or lack of it in the past), I can have control over eating nd eat what and how much I want

Loosing someone so very young had such grief that eating would supress it.

There are lots of other issues which have come to surface but too personal to put on the forum but the following is relevant

Diets cause people to feel 'deprived' so how could they work? eventually we may rebel at being deprived and thats why diets dont last or work.On a physical if our bodies feel starvation they will quickly start to store fat for safety.
I do not feel deprived have to have will power everyday to keep going and I do not weigh myself daily as I used to.Diets were always on my mind in the past and I would be calculating how much and how long etc.I now reach for the healthy foods as if its just a normal thing to do and I know I have a choice to eat a scone or slice of bread, I can take it or leave it.Starvation for food can mean starving for comfort in your childhood.
Being told what to do constantly in life can also be a problem where you will not let food 'tell you what to do'

So I am quite pleased with this, no willpower as in dieting previously, no feeling deprived, no pushing myself to walk, I just do it for the enjoyment. There is no beating myself up if I feel a biscuit would be nice and evidently I have not had any.
So lots of healing of surfacing emotions, being aware that emotions can appear anytime and the memories which you had forgotton.:)

Ok, just weighed myself and I have lost 6 lbs, may seem excessive but am allowing for fluid loss also, my clothes are so much looser and it does not feel like a diet which is the best part, lots of emotional stuff coming up but its starting to level out, I LOVE EFT 😀

Hi onlyhuman and welcome to HP.
I was just thinking yesterday about this actually, I guess it slipped my mind as I am no longer consumed with 'having to eat', having to weigh myself, constantly beating myself up when it comes to eating and overeating and feeling guilty.
I now eat a more healthy balanced diet but if I feel like something really naughty I will have it but I have a choice to say yes OR no, I do not have to fight it anymore.
I knew I was loosing weight or inches by my clothes but again not overly concerned as I had removed the drivers behind my eating patterns. This is the theory behind EFT, when you remove the drivers or negative emotions behind your obsessions you do not need to fuel them anymore.
I just popped on the scales this morning and I have lost 2 stone and 3 pounds which is really good and after the first few weeks was not a struggle.
I also took up more exercise and I did not have to force myself to do this.

So yes EFT works for weightloss once you find the target negative emotions underneath your poor habits and its the same with any issue one would use EFT for, we are only human and our subconscious tries to keep us safe and we prefer to bury our negative emotions rather that face them:)

Wow, I agree with Caroline, that really is brilliant and well done. Would you say the hardest part was facing up to the negative emotion?

I hadn't heard of EFT until I found this forum a few days ago but I've always known my issues with weight and how I looked were based on negative memories. I'm 5' 6" and have never worn larger than a size 12, but as a child and through my teens, my mother would comment on how large my tummy was and how big my bottom was getting (I weighed 9st 5lb late teens/early 20s and had neither a large tummy or a big bot, but she was my mum and I took her word for it), then I matured and became quite busty, and in turn became more and more self conscious.

It didn't stop me from wearing tight jeans or short skirts back in the day- everybody else was doing it, but it did affect the way I carried myself and I attracted a lot of people who tried to take advantage.

Years later, although I haven't been through a formal process of dealing with my early emotions, I have on a conscious level been able to acknowledge where these feelings came from and I do try to immediately replace any negative thoughts I have about myself with positive ones.

EFT, i think could be really helpful, but I don't know if I'm up to dealing with the emotional trauma right now. xx

You can use EFT to deal with that issue first then. 😉
