It's strange no-one is discussing EFT or asking questions about it.

I recommend EFT to people that I treat, if I feel they need it and self-EFT regularly.

I have noticed that there is a lot more activity on Facebook with some of the discussions that used to happen here. I drop in here nowadays to see if there is anyone around or anything interesting being discussed. I have no interest in religious topics, which do seem to feature here quite often.

EFT is well covered in the sites history
Also the internet covers it very well
With even the receipt readily available "free"

Although some sites seem to be talking things over
This is all a part of social media, just tike this site is/are/were

Those that are looking for information can find it
Discussing it is for the finer points

EFT is a tool in the alternatives arsenal

There are a lot of Facebook groups dealing with EFT and I have been more active on those lately than on HP (I do find that things are generally much quieter on HP nowadays than a couple of years ago - at least for the threads that catch my interest).

In fact AAMET conference (mostly focusing on EFT) is taking place right now this weekend in Cheshire, though I decided not to go - I will definitely make it to the EFT Gathering in January in York though - it is always inspirational, enlightening and full of extraordinary people (not necessarily all EFT "gurus" but normal tappers who do amazing things with EFT in their area) - if anyone wants to join the website is

I have started a new part-time job this month as a psychotherapist in a Health Psychology Department of one of the NHS Trusts - it is an exceedingly enlightened service where they started using EFT years ago, and most clinical psychologists and consultants are into it. The patients we see are highly complex, often with severe chronic illness compounded by mental health issues, and the number of sessions they are supposed to have is miniscule - my clinical supervisor said the other day "We wouldn't be able to do this if we didn't have the tapping." So true!

I am an EFT practitioner, also training to be a hypnotherapist, also training with Paul Crick, from this forum, to be a Gaia-Now healer.

I did some EFT with a client a few days ago, and mixed it up with some of my newly acquired hypnotherapy skills, and some healing.

It worked like magic 🙂

(New Age London, it does seem that religious arguments, scaremongering and conspiracy theories have taken over what used to be an excellent discussion forum )

I did a life coaching session the other day with someone who was VERY resistant to the idea that anything could really help her. One of her issues was that she shops a lot getting stuff she does not need . She admits she does so to make herself feel good. It tried one approach which made little impact then I decided to try EFT , She had seen a coat she really REALLY wanted to buy. So I taught her EFT with the set up phrase being ' even though I really want to buy that coat' Prior to using EFT her desire for the coat was 9/10. After 2 lots of tapping I said 'How much do you want the coat now?' Her face was a picture as she said ....Oh thats weird..........and admitted it was down to 1 or 2!! We discussed other situations where it could help and she was for the first time enthusiastic about something.

I learned EFT as part of my hypnotherapy course but very frustratingly although I can do hypnotherapy at the hospice where I volunteer - they don't recognise EFT so I can't use it with the patients/carers I treat there 🙁

I have the impression that the 'Like' button is often used rather than adding to the discussion, as it's quicker. I am under the impression that the number of posts dropped dramatically when it was installed, but it may have been co-incidental.

Also think due to the downturn there are fewer people taking a risk and starting up as therapists so less training and fewer "newbie" questions then we used to see.

Jinx - this would then make sense of other (non therapy) topics gaining precedence.
I have no problem with that - a discussion is a discussion after all.

Well to follow up on my post I have just had a message form client. I set her three tasks at the end of our life coaching session - one of the tasks was to sue EFT to help her, the other was to chose an outfit to go out tonight from her wardrobe and NOT buy anything new. I have just had a message from her - she has not bought anything new, EFT is amazingly powerful...........

Don't know if it may help Tashanie but perhaps you could mention at the hospice that various NHS departments around the country use EFT in their work with cancer patients and many other issues, e.g. here is the webpage of our Health Psychology service with some EFT handouts available for download for patients..

Nope sadly it wouldn't It has to be approved by Marie Curie HQ. They know how much I and another therapist want to use it and it is under review. But thanks for the info anyway

My take on EFT is that I am just to lazy to give it a go. :032:

Agree with you about the religious element on the forum though, gets on my nerves.

Yes, it's been quiet on here lately, but over the years I've seen it go quiet, then pick up again, then quiet, and then not so quiet and so on. It comes and goes in waves.

Certainly there's been less talk around EFT of late, though I think that may be because a few years back, EFT was something still quite new and more and more people were training up in it, whereas it's now become more common, and with Gary Craig having retired (I know he's back now but when he did retire) things sort of disappeared into their own little groups elsewhere... I guess it kind of lost it's 'leadership'. Of course that doesn't mean that people are no longer practicing it, just that there's nothing 'new' to talk about that much, as well as there being more dedicated places to get information about it. And Jinx is right, the economic climate has hit many therapists as well as those who would be newbies to the field. It's harder for people to take the risk of starting up a new business at such a time.

Jeannie,
Whether you choose to have a go at EFT or not is entirely your choice. Perhaps you could start by tapping on your feeling of being too lazy to do it. The technique itself is very simple and doesn't take long at all to learn for treating yourself. Why not give it a try.... and you may find it can help you with lots of other things too. 😉

As for the religious element of the forum, there's certainly been discussion around that area, but it's recognized that many see religions and spirituality going hand in hand, and many of the practices people do, whether it be spiritual healing or other energy healing techniques or even tarot readings etc. are often linked to spirituality and religion by many. And to be honest, if talking around religions isn't your thing... that's fine, you can just ignore those discussions.... though I suspect if you're reading them and they're 'getting on your nerves' then you've obviously got some interest in them at some level. 😉

----

At the end of the day, EFT is still a great tool, and I still use it, along with doing Freeway CER.

All Love and Reiki Hugs

Religion is like politics. Nearly everyone has SOME take on it. Jeanie they often get on my nerves too - but I have learned to read , learn from waht is said and NOT get involved in the discussion. May I suggest EFT to defuse the frsutration over such posts 😀
