Hi, i am thinking of doing a course on ear candles and was wondering if anyone gets a lot of clients for this? is there much call for ear candles?
I qualified in April and have since had a client book a block of 4 treatments and had 3 other clients and one next week. Not a lot of people know whats involved and its about educating them in to the wonderful benefits of the treatment. Also its one of my favourite treatments to give as its very relaxing.
I personally get very few, mainly because I market the mind stuff more these days, and physical injuries. When I did more regular therapies I found it was quite poplar in the summer months. It's a nice little treatment, specially for those with busy heads which wont switch off.
Hi froggy
I did an earcandling treatment today. I think its the first one this year. I don't promote that much, but it's a good additional bolt-on to other therapies. Like already been mentioned you have to educate clients about the benefits. It's a shame they are called candles as a lot of people think they are ordinary wax candles.
My rule of thumb about courses is: if you like receiving the treatment, then why not practice it. Easy to jump on a bandwagon with no thought, other than the ringing of the cash till.

Hi froggy,
If you have still to book your course, I would recommend Thermo-Auricular Therapy Training. I've completed their Foundation and Advanced Otoscope courses and thoroughly enjoyed them both. The back up service provided by the Tutors is excellent. They are just a phone call or e-mail away if you need help. I have included a link to the website so that you can check this out for yourself.
Hope this helps you.

Hi Froggy
I offer Hopi and it's not one of my most regular treatments, but it often goes in fits-and-starts. I had a new client for Hopi last night who has booked again for her second, and her friend, who had a different treatment last night, as also opted for it next time. Other than this, usually 1 a month or so, but it's always nice to have lots of therapies to offer - no everybody wants to get their kit off!
🙂
