Hi

I have a problem with my left ear. For a long time I have been unable to equalise the pressure in it, and it feels like there is pressure in the ear. I spent some time last night gently blowing with a blocked nose, and finally got some equalisation going. The air 'bubbled' through whatever is there, and I wondered if ear candling might help.
Feel free to ask any other questions.

Thanks

RE: Inner ear

Hi there

I would definetely give ear candling a go. I have treated people with all different kinds of ear problems ranging from tinitus to excess wax and problems with ears popping due to flying. All treatments have been very successfull and the treatments are very relaxing too. I find that there is usually signs of improvement immediately after the treatment. (As always it will depend on how long one has suffered with their problem). It certainly won't do any harm though (unless you have any contra-indications)
Did you hold your nose when you blew? If so, be careful doing this as my husband did it once and became very disorientated and nearly fainted!
Good luck and let me know how you get on if you decide to go ahead.

Emma

I totally agree with Emma above! My last hopi treatment i received, i was laid in bed falling asleep and my sinuses popped and woke me up! now my ears and my sinuses are unblocked and it feels fabulous. I#ve had 4 treatments now and it works wonders. I've also recently qualified as a Hopi Therapist.

RE: Inner ear

hello,

problem with left ear here too...

and not going better. I've had some congested/unpleasant feeling on and off for a few months, but today it is feeling quite bad. To make me feel worse all my natural medicine books say "if the pain does not go away after 24 hours, go and see a doctor immediately, or you risk total deafness"!

24 hours?? it's been months!
I think it is all related to my catharr-producing mucous membranes, and the cold and wet weather.

SO i've put the mullein oil that has garlic and lavender essential oils in it, twice. And at first, it felt good (cause I warmed the oil), but then it is like the oilgot inside the head, like a weight...so I now wear a home-made tissue compress whic I soakedin chamomile tea, with my ear muffs and head bandage, my partner got so scared just looking at me, he called me "weirdo"! Earlier on I had pressed the whole tea pot on my head.

back to my ear...what should I do? I hate modern drugs that doctors prescribe, therefore I feel reluctant to go and see a GP.

would ear candling help? what does it do actually? is it just the warmth?

Any advice very very welcome,
thanks all,
not feeling great tonight...

RE: Inner ear

Hi there Fadette.

I wouldnt personally recommend putting any oil in your ear other than olive oil - just a couple of drops at that!

Ear candling may help, I'm now having weekly treatments as if i wait any longer my ears get a bunged up feeling and start to itch.

I can honestly say that whilst the ear candling is helping with my ears, it has helped more with my sinuses. I havent been able to breathe through my nose for years, now i can. The vibration on my pallete has stopped as well.

A brief explanation: the lit candle causes a gentle chimney effect through a vibration of the rising air column which gently massages the eardrum and helps clear the front and nasal sinuses. This all helps to regulate ear pressure.

The candle also stimulates blood circulations and helps the immune systems, cleansing the lymph glands.

I wouldn't harm to see the dr to see if you do have any inflammation or infection - afterall he wont give you any medication unless you need it and you dont have to take the medication if you dont want to. But it would be an idea to know whats happening inside your ear.

Hope you feel better soon.

RE: Inner ear

thanks aroma.

I did see a GP (I thought we never know, it could be serious..) and she said I had wax covering fluid accumulation behind my ear. which makes total sense as I have had cathrarr problem, but it is now much better (i cut dairy food and wheat out of my diet).

For the wax thing I was very surprised, with the amount of oil i put in there...but somehow the wax has not come out.

anyway, last night I put self-made hot compresses on my ear, made of chamomille tea/herb with honey and garlic (hope i am not making you feel sick!). I just improvided, but i knew chamomille was good for ear problems. I also massaged all around the ear with lavender and niaouli + olive warm oil, and this morning my pain had GONE!

So i don't know which bit help most, surely the heat and anti-viral properties of garlic and niaouli were of help.

Monday i have my first ear candling treatemnt and am really excited, as any kind of heat is welcome, especially if the process improves sinus and breathing.

many thanks.

Oooo Fadette you will love it I promise you! Make sure you takee a hat or scarf to cover your ears when you come out of your treatment. Nothing worse than having a lovely treatment to step out and get cold winter air in your ears.
