Hi all

I have just attended a course today for ear candling and I have come home looking to purchase some candles from the internet. Biosun seems to have a bit of a monopoly on the market but i have seen some indian candles and some by Otosan. Does anyone have any experience of these. We used Biosun in training today.
Thanks in advance

Hi there,

As a supplier of ear candles I can give you the lowdown!

Biosun are used by the vast majority ofear candle practitioners as they have a CE safety mark which therefore enables them to get insurance . Otosan and Indian do not.

Otosan and Indian, like Biosun, do have a filter inside them to catch debris that might fall down the candle.

I wish you well

Thanks for your reply Jonathan. I have purchased some biosun candles and am now looking forward to practising with them to get some experience.

Yes I would recommend Biosun, they may be a bit more expensive but worth it for peace of mind. I purchased some cheaper ones which we had also used in training so I felt they should be fine, however they didn't have filters and I ended up with ash and wax from the candle dropping down the candle into the ear - exactly the opposite of what we are trying to achieve - nightmare! 😮

I would check with your insurers that you are able to use any other brand.

There are now more brands of Ear Candles on the market and many do contain filters for peace of mind. Just try typing "ear candles with filters" into the search engines and see what comes back. I can vouch for some of the cheaper options which work just as well.

I've used a few different types of ear candles and the Biosun ones do seem the better quality as the aromas are a bit stronger and they are a bit better made than some of the cheaper ones.

Having said that I have used some cheaper ones that were very good just the aroma was not as strong yet they were 1/3 of the price. Problem is quality varies between some of the cheaper brands and many of them are not branded up so you don't know which ones are which!
