I've always used Biosun ear candles but came across some Indian alternatives today.
The write up on the web page looks encouraging and price is good so have ordered a couple of pairs of the aromatherapy rose candles.

Just wondered if anyone here has tried them? Have put link here for clarity

wow they have done so well they are selling out! I havent tried them personally but my favourite candle at the moment are the Jill Fraser candles, all hand made in lincolnshire and she has a website and can be found at the BSSK events in the region. The worst candles i have tried are the azteca candles, they were awful!

I love that website, always enter the draw but never win lol, I always buy Biosun candles from there (free p&p, yay) Never used any others as I am not sure I am insured (only for Biosun)

I've always used biosun, but they have been pulled from my local stockists for being unethical. (?)

why is that? did they say why?

I would check your insurance before using any other candles as Biosun candles have a CE mark.

I don't know why BIOSUN have been pulled but I do know that the Hopi Indians are up in arms at the moment about BIOSUN using their name in conjunction with ear candling. The Hopis maintain that ear candling isn't and has never been a therapy that they did and they are rather upset that they are being linked to it.

For my part, I changed my treatment details to show Thermo Auricular Therapy instead of Hopi Ear Candling (although I do use, and am only insured, for BIOSUN).

It is due to the Hopi Indians. My certificate says "Thermo Auricular Therapy" but we used biosun for our training. I thought I'd be able to use any make?

Alternative to Biosun

Hi All
After reading the reviews below I would suggest anyone trying "Herbacone" Ear Candles. They are a much cheaper option and in my opinion just as good. I think hopicandles4u.com are the UK distributors and they have been around for the last year or so. Their candles are slightly softer than Biosun which is due to the fact that they are 100% Beeswax, but they are really good and work great. They also do scented candles under the brand name "Biocandle". They have free delivery as well which is always a thumbs up in my book.
In response to insurance issues I have found that in some cases there are restrictions but not often. I am not sure if CE marks on products mean that much anyway as manufacturers can issue them themselves without any testing. I guess psycologically people think a CE mark is good but not really. Just use candles with filters and you should be fine.
