Can anyone tell me what the benefits would be of a probiotic with ginger. I always used to buy Boots Digestion Support and found it to be quite good - they seem to have stopped it and brought out 3 different ones with the same probiotics cultures in but two of them have added calcium and the other one has added ginger. Don't want calcium and not sure about the ginger - would it be a bonus or a hinderance - not sure why they just don't do the probiotic as it was!

Ginger is well recognised for being anti-inflammatory.

What about ginger for the stomach i.e. bloating - don't have arthritis etc. so not sure I need anti-inflammatory - don't get a lot of stomach pain just bloating and constipation

Yes Janet - that's what ginger does, i.e. eases bloating (as does peppermint tea).

Ginger

No wonder ginger occupies a venerable role in ayurvedic medicine as an appetite-stimulant and digestive aid.

It acts as a carminative (it prevents flatulence) and an intestinal spasmolytic (it soothes the intestinal tract).

Modern research supports its efficacy as a safe remedy for travel sickness, and for nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.

Ginger also seems to have an analgesic effect on the joints. Gingerols, the potent anti-inflammatory compounds found in ginger, appear to reduce the pain, and improve the mobility, of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis sufferers.

An infusion of fresh, thinly sliced root ginger in boiling water has a warming action on the upper respiratory tract, making it a soothing home remedy for colds, flu, and coughs.

Have a great day,
Ivonne:)
