Of recent years the food industry has searched for ways of producing sugars artificially from carbohydrates (maize, corn, agave, etc) and came up with very cheap High Fructose Corn Syrup () and fructose crystals. It is to replace sucrose which we normally get from cane or sugar-beet and what we call sugar.

HFCS has been put into so many processed foods, but notably fizzy drinks, ice creams, cakes, biscuits, breads, ketchups and so on. In fact, especially in USA, it is very difficult to avoid.

It now has been found to cause all sorts of problems in the body - the latest of which is detailed here but this is not the only source of my information. I come across this regularly but thought it worth posting here to warn people. It is a shocking indictment of persuing the goal of cheap food for profit. What's new?

Another reason to cook your own food and base it on wholefoods!! At least you are likely to know then what you are eating. 😉

I appreciate the link, of course they did try to sell me everything under the sun. I only bought the first booklet because it combined in one place what I am finding many places.

I have to say...removing msg and aspartame from my diet makes me feel better. When I am lazy and eat out...I spend too much time in the bathroom, take too much tylonal and my bood presure gets high again.

If I stay on my diet, I have no head aches, less body aches and my blood presure is normal.

My daily drink of choice is: a half of a lemon and a half a lime squeezed into a large glass of ice and water with a little stevia.

My new lovely little snack is 2 dates (no sugar added) and some almonds. Great pick me up.
