Hi all, I'm pretty new here. I used to collect crystals and stones as a child, both tumbled and raw--I remember having rose quartz, cloudy quartz, an amethyst geode, aventurine, fuchsite, lapis lazuli, some clear crystal points, dyed agate, red jasper, some flint and fossils I picked up on a camping trip (I grew up in an area that was underwater millions of years ago, so there are many ocean-life fossils hundreds of miles inland), etc. I think it's safe to say I really, really, really liked rocks.

I've recently become interested in crystals as an adult, and I've noticed that throughout my life I have been especially drawn to lapis lazuli. This could be because as a child I read books about medieval manuscript illumination, and lapis lazuli was the prized ingredient in the precious ultramarine blue pigment. However, I think that being drawn to a specific stone since childhood is probably more meaningful than that. Perhaps I just like how it looks and how my tumbled stone felt in my hands, perhaps it's just fond childhood memories and associations, but perhaps it's something more. Does anyone know what it could mean that I've been drawn to this specific type of stone throughout all these years?

Hi. Welcome here.
Lapis lazuli is as fine a stone to be drawn to. You are drawn to it, as you mentioned due to childhood memories and associations. Would you rather there be something more to it?
We like things to be much more significant than they really are...because it is a fine chance to go down that rabbit hole and that can be entertaining because of possibility of psycho analysis that it opens up.
You don't need anyone else to give you the significance of it, you can find any reason why it feels significant and that will fit the bill.
In the course of weeks or months the attraction might wane...it might already be happening.
"Analyses that" 😀

I too have become very interested in crystal and tumble stones at a rather late time in life. I am enjoying the adventure and although not easily susceptible I do feel an affinity with certain crystals and stones.
