Hello. I need help finding the right crystal that will help me with this part of myself. I tend to be a sensitive person and easily affected by verbal attack, harsh criticism, and little attitudes and negative emotions from people directed at me specifically or in my direction generally. A normal person doesn't let the little things like that (attitudes, complaints, etc.) from people bother them. They are able to brush it off and move on, but I'm very affected by that stuff and after I am it stays with me and bothers me and I tend to obsess a lot over it and it takes a while for me to get over it. Can anybody recommend a crystal I should carry around with me that would make me have, for lack of a better term, thick skin so I am not affected by peoples' little attitudes and negative emotions directed towards me or in my general direction? I work in customer service and I deal with this a lot and sometimes that bothered and upset feeling stays with me and like I said above I obsess over it and it can be really hard for me to brush it off and get over it.

Thank you very much for your time in advance, I really appreciate it!

Crystals have amazing spirits and, when they want to, can help us in many ways. But your post sounds as if you are looking for a magic bullet to change your personality without effort. This does not happen.

You say:

A normal person doesn't let the little things like that (attitudes, complaints, etc.) from people bother them. They are able to brush it off and move on,

I wonder how you know this? How do you even know what a 'normal person' is? I know very few people who can simply 'brush off' "verbal attack, harsh criticism, and little attitudes and negative emotions from people". In my experience, most people have had to work hard and long to not show how hurt they are, and to rationalise the situation as the other person's problem. What else have you considered apart from crystals? Because even if you find the right crystal, you'll still have to work at this.

Well I do realize that it will definitely take effort from me as well. I know that there is no 'magic bullet' to act as a quick solution to a complex problem. I should've stated above that I would use the crystal as a booster in helping brush that stuff off. Besides the crystals I've just been doing exactly what you said: to rationalize it as the other person's problem and try to move on. I usually talk to my mom about it and it helps a lot, but I have to learn to get over it myself like most people do and that I can't rely on my mom forever. I've been actively trying to work at this that's why I was looking for a crystal that would help me in that along with my effort as well. Maybe not even a crystal for this specifically, but one that helps with OCD and an obsessive personality which is exactly what I have. Something that will help me just let go and not obsess. I tend to unnecessarily obsess over little things that's why I said that 'normal people' don't obsess-aren't most people confident enough to just not be bothered by little things? I doubt most people obsess over the little things like I do.

If only being able to "brush" off life's bad experiences could be taught at school. how many people have had their futures almost ruined by bad childhood experiences. It really is a serious problem. If anyone did find a crystal that can undo lasting hurt they would become millionaires overnight.

Of course, in many cases school is one of life's bad experiences.

I doubt most people obsess over the little things like I do.

You'd be surprised!

I'd really advise getting help. It isn't easy to change things that are such a long-standing habit.
When you label yourself 'OCD and Obsessive Personality' - is this your diagnosis, or an official one? I really don't see that the labels are helpful. Every time you say, 'I have an obsessive personality' your soul hears this as an instruction. You fix it ever more deeply in yourself until you become the diagnosis and are unable to function.

It's my diagnosis. I guess you're right, the more you say something the more it will become true. It's not very bad, just socially I guess when it comes to awkward encounters and negativity from people I just tend to obsess over it a lot more than my friends or other people I know ever would.

Let's say, more than they let you know.
All I can really say is - shamanic counselling with a good practitioner would help.

Hello Nick!
Being sensitive is a gift. But being emotionally bruised all the time is a heavy burden to carry....and you may find that it is the storyline that sticks rather than the emotion itself. The storyline keeps running itself in mind which in turn keeps the emotion in place....hurting hurting hurting for a long period of time. Storyline is engrossing that we forget to feel the feeling. Does that makes sense?

When you see this simple dynamic, you will prepare to distance from the storyline.

I know you have asked for crystals that can help you. but the solution to your challenges is even easier than that.

In an aggrevating situation- watch that there is a story- with characters and dialogues.
Drop the characters, then drop what they said. Simply come back to what you feel. Breathe into that, say yes to that feeling, relax into the crappy feel...with a 'yes'. Stay open to feeling that way...within moments the feeling begins to disperse. Keep breathing into it with a sense of intimacy until it frees you. The whole exercise takes minutes. As you grow intimate to your own emotional climate, your inner climate changes.
If we were taught to experience and allow emotions in such a way, we would not need much outside help. If an emotion is arising within you, all it asks you is to really feel it, then it goes...

Hope it helps

Hi Nick,

Thank you for being brave to share your heart with strangers. I read your lines and I have some suggestions to make, so you could have more choices to work with.

Let me normalise your emotions first and let me help you to put your mind at rest. It's normal to feel overwhelmed when you work in a customer service centre. Every type of work with people will leave you feeling drained and thinking constantly over and over if you get hurt in the process of your normal duties, serving others.

It must not be minimised how you feel, but as someone said it here, I agree with, go through the motion but in a controlled way. Go for a walk and while you walk, reflect on what's happened, and accept your feelings as valid and okay. Then will yourself to leave it behind with every step you took as you walk. Once you arrived to work or home, desire to start a new beginning. In fact, every day is a new beginning. All things has past away and everything become new. After a good night sleep, we feel regenerated and that's includes a renewed mind.

Some crystals that works like a medicine. I would use Healer's Gold, carried in my packets to work and in fact to everywhere. I would get two, 1 for each packet and I would sleep with them by put it into the pillowcase. Healer's Gold is excellent to support you in shielding you from negativity and boost you with positive energy.

I would also get an amethyst pendant. Doesn't need to be big, and it doesn't need to be any particular shape but have it in silver. Let it come to you the right one. Amethyst works really well with obsessive tendencies. In fact, it works really well with all kind of addiction or negative anxious mind. Wear it all the time, but not in shower.

I would also get a Baltic Amber necklace. The one that we mums put around our children's neck against pain and infection. Baltic Amber is not only supports your body but also works really well with your soul and mind. Balance you out and helps with regeneration on all levels. If you go on an online store, look for Baltic amber necklace for adults. The selection is wide, see which one you like. All works really well. Keep it on alone with your amethyst silver pendant. Usually 45cm long is the Baltic amber necklace, and if you have a thin silver chain like 50 cm long with your amethyst on it, they will not get tangled up.

Please let me know if you need some more brainstorming about anything and let me know how you go with your crystal purposes.
