hello to forum
i was wondering if anyone would be so good as to allow me information regarding life coaching or counselling with reference to training as a life coach or counsellor.
the information i am seeking is the correct way to train with accredited training providers, as looking through the internet there seems to be many providers and im unaware of what national bodies etc are relevant to providers, hence are all providers a reliable source,
i would be very grateful if anyone can point mein theright direction.
many thanks
john
RE: LIFE COACHING/COUNSELLING
Hi,
The BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) are one of the main associations in this field, if you search under that on the internet you should come up with a number and they could direct you to a reputable course.
Regarding coaching there are a few assocations such as the Coaching Academy, International Coach Federation (ICF) and the association for coaching (AFC) these are the ones that I am aware of although there are probably more.
Again if you do the same and contact them, they should be able to point you in the right direction.
Hope this helps! 🙂
RE: LIFE COACHING/COUNSELLING
There are some good distance courses ran by Newcastle College that are free and written by a leading life coach.
Whilst distance learning can't compare to face to face training the course is a good one and I would recommend it fully.
Good luck,
John

May I just clarify here ... The Coaching Academy is a training organisation:

Regarding John's comment on Newcastle College, I requested their pack recently and gota request for £400 registration. I know this course used to be free, but it isn't now.
