Hi
I have just started a CBT diploma online with the Hypnotheraphy Centre of Excellence. Has anyone else completed this online course or is presently studying?
Thanks
Kady
I hope someone replies Kady.
I have a friend who lives near Manchester who bought up one of their 'vouchers' (offered through one of the cheap voucher deals) to do a nutrition course earlier in 2013. Sadly she wasn't impressed.
You might as well read some CBT books that are much cheaper and easily available. The distance learning courses like this do not give you a real qualification or skills to practice.

I also bought an online Hypnotherapy course from the same company and needless to say it was a big disappointment.
I wasn't looking to get a proper certification as I know the limitations of online training very well but the quality and amount of info was really close to none.
A book from the library would teach the same…or better.
One of my friend has completed this course and has started his own firm so you can contact her and get the information related to it.
The most worrying thing about CoE's online courses is that they are leading people to believe they can complete their online course (or diploma as they call it) in Massage/Reflexology/Aromatherapy etc and they are then a qualified therapist and can practise on the general public! Oh and of course they have links with an insurance company who will happily insure them 🙁
I am doing the naturopathy course with them at the moment. I share your reservations. I will be interested to see if my insurer recognises the qualification if I complete it. I only paid 30.00 and did so with the up front determination that if nothing else it was CPD.
Hi All:
Does anybody know if it is illegal to set up as a counsellor without any qualifications?
Sadly, no. Which leaves vulnerable individuals open to all sorts of 'abuse'.
