Can anybody please tell me if its common for chiro practices to sell therapy aids, like back supports and pillows etc to their patients?
I just doing some research and was wondering what was the most common setup.

I would say that most sell some aids, at low profit margins. But don't expect much choice, or large stock.
Most common aid is likely to be ice packs.

makes sense; have a look at my reply earlier, and if you're looking to make a business out of it check lots of chiro.s (and osteo.s) websites, and phoning their receptionists.
I'd also warn you that there are some big national companies you'd be up against (eg physiomed), and people who do stock will already have suppliers you'd have to outbid (price quality & service), so I'd have thought it'd be a tough market to start up in.

I'm looking to supply a unique therapy product, i was just looking to see whether a good portion of chiros in this country stocked and supplied aids to their patients.
I'm assuming that with the size of the likes of physiomed, there must be a good sized market.
BIA you mentioned the big 3 (price quality & service), with my product I can compete with all of them, is there anything else you could say a chiro would look for in a potential supplier?
any feedback appreciated!
Where I work we sell the following: (I work in a Chiropractic clinic)
ice packs (sell loads of these!) kept in stock at all times
memory foam pillows (just one or two at a time in stock)
Memory foam mattresses and toppers (only trials kept in house, company supply direct)
Biofreeze (cryotherapy gel for pain relief)
Echinacea (Vogel)
Devils Claw (Vogel)
Milk Thistle (Vogel)
Glucosamine high quality liquid supplement
S.I. Belts
We will also get massage waxes for patients if they ask.
Hope that helps a bit. The only one that we sell in quantity is the ice packs, probably followed by the Biofreeze.

Anything beyond those 3 you'd be unaware of before commiting anyway, and would generally come in under "service". I very much agree with Karen when she says that the only thing we'd sell in any sort of bulk would be ice packs (and fake ice), everything else is sold in very limited numbers.
Yes I'd have thought there'd be a good sized market, but only if you're supplying something the market wants, and that market is very spread about, and over several different professions and clinics ranging in size from solo practice to large clinics of 5-6 practitioners, so getting your name out there would be essential (and pricey).
Out of interest, you say you'd be supplying a unique product - what would that be? maybe I could give you some feedback as to how useful a chiro would see that, an incticteve feeling as to how many patients I'd have that it might be suitable for. And indeed, whether it might be a better idea to try and get a contract with the big suppliers, accept a lower price, but many more likely sales with fewer overheads.
