Hi there I have had a bad back now for 4 months it's finally settled in my right leg from my butt to my ankle and is really painful.
I have tried a chiropractor for about 6 visits which was not any good, although in the past I have had good results from Chiro- maybe it was because my regular one he'd moved on. I have now been to see an Osteopath for three sessions and he says that I have a prolapsed disc which is causing all my problems. He says that I have had the condition to long and he recommends a nerve block steroid injection to make things better. I have no experience of these but am not a fan of surgery so this sounds a possibility.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this procedure?
Also does anyone know of a good chiropractor in Lincolnshire - please!!
Try Bowen Technique first, before resorting to steroid injections.

lincolnshire is a big place, where are you from ?
Sleaford.
Sleaford.
google Dave Batten, a really good sports and remedial therapist who will educate you as to what you are doing to maintain your presenting condition, Im just north of Lincoln if you wanted to head in my direction. I could provide you with his details if needed but I dont like publishing personal info unless I have their permission

With my pharmacist head on I can say Steroid injections are very good at relieving pain - but don't last for ever. They may well have a place in your treatment - but I agree try chiropractic or osteopathy first - in fact almost any complementary therapy first.!!!! The NHS is NOT good at dealing with back pain.
Don;t be afraid to take painkillers tho. Paracetamol is quite effective.

steroid injections are more effective when administered under scan conditions.
