I have only recently heard of the Bowen Technique and after reading about it I am beginning to wonder if it might be a worthwhile treatment for me to try. I have neck, back and arm injuries following a car crash in September 2006. I have been having physio on a weekly basis but my recovery has now plateaued and remains as a constant ache which gets worse in the evening rendering me physically exhausted (I never realised pain can cause so much exhaustion).

I am constantly irritable and snappy and am too proud to ask for help from my family, my husband doesn't even realise how much it is affecting me on a day to day basis as he works long hours in a very stressful job so I always try to put on a brave and happy face to make the most of the time we spend together. I am getting really desperate, I have a 2 year old son who I care for 24/7 and an 11yr old who causes me a lot of stress which only makes my condition worse.

I would really appreciate any advice and whether anyone thinks bowen technique will help at all.

RE: Will it help my whiplash injury?

:)Hello Super Mummy,
Im sorry to hear thatthings are not right for you at the moment. I cant comment if the bowen tech. would be good for you. However being asingle mum of three and coping with many ups and downs lifehas given me. I can tell you that yourhealth and well being is one of the most important things! Without you how would you children or husband cope? So its time to stop being super mum and take time out. Perhaps talk to your husband about how you feel?Make sure you give yourself timeout each day:(reading, listening to music, sleeping).I know its hard to make time for yourself but it does work and in the end the whole family will be happy aswell.

Try as many things out to help with stress.

You will get there in the end.

Take Care

RE: Will it help my whiplash injury?

As A sports therapist I see quite a lot of whiplash injuries and have had success where physio has failed or reached a limit, I do lots of manual work and massage which I find from personal experience my physio doesnt, I base my treatments on what I feel in the muscles andpostural assessments. Try a different approach and see if it works for you,
Regards
