hi , im due to open up a two roomed clinic, im a sports and massage therapist with a huge client base freelance. My husband and I have currently bought a premises on a good high street withgood parkingwhere i will be based from. I have also got a receptionist due to start when refurbishments are finished.

Looking through many alternative specialist therapies i have decided i would like to rent the other treatment room to a bowen therapist.

My questions are:
What would you as a bowen therapist want as in general equipment?
What would you as a therapist want to pay daily/weekly for the room?
What would you expect to be included in the price?
Would you want a room share with another bowen therapist or want it for yourself?

I dont intend to chargea great dealas it will also benefit my company. At present it will include all energy costs lighting/heating/power etc, reception staff, room and equipment, advertising (window&newspapers etc).

It will be a fixed fee and quite happy to have just the one therapist that rents it on a weekly basis so they can come and go to use the premises as they want within trading standards laws.

All i ask for is the weekly fee and that the therapist is fully qualified, insured and registered with suitable therapist association.

would like any advice, i dont know too much about bowen therapy butim sureitwould work well with what i do, also making the premises appealing to many. I'm sure many of my clients will be interested too. Shower and toileting facilities are also available on the premises for clients. I have staff employee insurance with Zurich.

Any help anyone? thanks

I guess too that it depends where you are - large town / expensive area ??? SE England is likely to have higher costs than say SW Wales - for the owner of the property.
I guess I would want to know how much you would be charging per session / per hour for your specialityies and that any Bowen Therapist would not want to undercut you or price themselves out of the market.
Just some additional thoughts.
Good luck
JJ

RE: premises for bowen therapist

their has been another discussion about how much commission you should be paying, I think the general consensus was about £6 an hour which includes the bills.

I pay that but supply all my own products, towels. I don't pay electricity, council tax, etc. I also do all my own promotional work and am about to get some wording on the windows replaced which I will pay for myself. the room is basically mine but I only use it 2 days a week. One other person uses it every couple of weeks or so for a few hours.
