I am starting to make my own beauty products and want to make my own labels. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good softwear program. I do have one but seem to be having problems with the sizes of the round lid labels and also finding label printing paper for the round labels. My jars are very shallow as they are wide neck jars so for these putting a label on the side isn't really an option. Any ideas?

Hi Susan

I can't help re software, but I get my labels printed via an ebay member Skarlettnoire, she is very reasonable priced. Just a suggestion if you are unable to print yourself.

Avery offer the facility to design on-line then you just order the blank labels to print. Not sure if they'd do your round labels though.

Just checking, you are up to speed with all the legalities? Ie products must be certified by a cosmetic chemist, INCI ingredients and allergens should be listed, plus batch no, weight and bb date.

Thanks for the reply and i have bought a cosmetic assessment where i have to follow a list of ingredients, quantities of essential oils etc. I will take a look at Avery and i have tried to find Skarlettnoire on eBay but can not seem to find them. Thanks again

If you've got the money you can buy a Primera label printing machine - the LX400e is the cheapest - about £1100 before VAT!

If that's too steep, then you can get platic Avery (or substitutes) labels and use a colour laser printer (should be able to get one for about £230).
