hi there im in ireland and
im wondering are the exams(practical) done with just you the model and the examiner in the room?
must you supply your own model or is a classmate used?
how long is the practical?
what type of questions are asked?
are they the same amount of time for itec and cibtac?
Hi carareen. I did both the CIBTAC & ITEC exams for massage therapy. I took my course here in Dubai, and when the course first started, it was only governed by CIBTAC. About halfway through the course, they gave us the choice of also doing the ITEC exams.
From experience, I would say that they are pretty much the same, except that for the ITEC, you pay a bit more. The written exams were virtually the same as well as the practical.
You never know ahead of time what the tester will ask, so be ready for anything, so to speak. Some testers ask alot of questions, some only ask one or two.
They should tell you how long each exam is. You will need to provide your own model. Which course is this for? I did my course in massage, but I was a model for the beauty courses, so I'm familiar with the atmosphere for those.
my course is beauty specialist
Hi, I'm doing this course aswell, we were told we had to supply our own model and the class is divided and do the pratical exams. We also got told there is one examiner. Someone else told me the exams are multiple choice and I think the pratical is 3.5hrs long:eek: I'm nervous already!!!
How are you finding it? I'm finding it a lot to take in!!
Hi there 🙂 I know this was posted a little while ago but just in case anyone is still reading! I am doing a one year course which started in Feb, sat CIBTAC Aesthetics in July and am sitting Body and electrolysis this coming week. The beautician (aesthetics ) exam is about 3ish hours long and you have to demonstrate hot wax, warm wax, full facial with machines and eyelash/brow tin, brow shape, make up and either a mani or pedi. There is usually about 9 ish people sitting the practical exam at once and one examiner who walks around and asks you questions indivdually. I found the questions quite basic, my examiner was very nice though so mayb thats why!
Good luck everyone, if anyone hs sat electrolysis and body please give me some tips!!!
