Hi C

If you wish to be a tutor, wouldn't it be sensible to have some experience under your belt, say at least 3 years or more. Otherwise you could end up teaching big mistakes. This may not be what you want to hear but I have worked in further education and teaching is not all it seems to be. Mountains of paperwork and ego-personalities to deal with.

Teaching is a grand thing and a privilage, and I'm happy to be helpful to anyone who wishes to take that route, but experience is important, exam boards should demand it, and you should have at least ITEC level 3 (in my personal opinion, which may not be the opinion of the exam board I hasten to add) before teaching.

I don't want to put you off and hope I don't come across as arrogant, but there is an old saying about learning to walk before you run!!

Best wishes on yer training

RP

Hello,

I started teaching when I was 21.Im 30 now and I found it very hard for the first 2 years and I was straight out of college. That said, if you have the determination to teach go for it !

I wish you all the best in your career

I have been working in the Beauty Industry for 10 years now and it is only in the last couple that I really feel that I am in a position to teach others. I feel that now the main basis of my teaching is to pass on what I have learned, I think that those you train have heauge respect for you when they know you have been there and done that:).

I wish you all the best with your ambitions but I do agree with the others, gain some experience and I would recomend working in an established salon/spa if possible as well to gain a full spectrum of experience.
