hhhmmm that's a tough question...if i were setting my prices I would check out the local competition and see what they are charging...i would check salons and the mobile/home therapists....then i would take into account the cost of doing the treatment (product & overheads), what i would need to earn and finally the profit I want to make...
sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

You definately need to do what beauty student says but my initial thought when looking at your prices is that hot stone is a bit cheap - i was told in my training to add at least £10 to the price of my normal massage - yours is the same price - bear in mind you need to buy extra kit for that treatment which is expensive and therefore allows for the higher price

Hi JH, I had the same dilemma. Remember, if you start a bit higher, there is always room to reduce, but it is more dificult to put prices up, esp wth established customers.
Look at prices in the area. The highest/lowest price are not always indicative of the best treatments.
Time: how much do you need to earn hourly?
For instance, I charge £30. for reflexology (40mins) the client is with me for about an hour. My initial training costs/equipment/ and if I hire a room adds to the costs . Some reflexologists charge £70.00 in London, so it depends where you live.
hope this helps,
jenny
If a treatment is an hour, you may say £40.00
Therefore 1/2 hr could be £20.00
Add hidden costs, ie consumable items, travel to work, insurance, perhaps the training for that therapy cost more, so maybe charge more.
Then put it on your pc, print it and have a look. It is so easy to undervalue your work, so make sure that you are very happy before distributing your prices.

Hi,
When I started up I collected as many leaflets of mobile, home based and salon leaflets. To see what the local area prices are. I set my prices in the middle of them all. I work from home so i have more overheads than a mobile therapist but a lot less than a full salon. I seem to be at the right level for my area due to the custom i have built up. I live in Berkshire.
Standard Facial £25 1 hour
Anti age Facial £30 1 hour
Body Massage £30 1 hour
Full body spray Tan £25
Manicure £15 or £17 for a French
Pedicure £19 or £19 for French
Hope this helps
Cheers Lorina

you need to collect pricing info from local salons/therapists to get an idea of what others are charging....but most importantly you need to decide what you would like to earn per hour and work out your pricing structure from that....for example if you want to ear £20 per hour then a half hour treatment needs to cost around £10 and a 15 minute treatment should be around £5 - you also need to take into account the cost of your products etc.....this is just a rough guide which gives you a rough idea, there will always be exceptions depending on the treatment!
