Hi, I'm a holistic rather than beauty therapist but have a nail-related question, if that's OK. It's something I've been asked to find out for a local cancer charity that I volunteer for.
The charity would like to run a stall at school fairs etc. just applying nail varnish/art (stick-on sequins etc, I think they mean) without any other parts of manicure (i.e. no cutting, filing, cuticles etc). Do you think it is OK (or not) for someone to offer this without being qualified in manicure?
I have so far advised them they should check the charity's insurance policy, but I would be really grateful for your views too.
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
It's a long time since I gave up my career in nails, but there is no requirement to be qualified to apply nail varnish so this should not be an insurance issue, of course you do get people who are allergic to either the varnish or the remover but I did nails for 21 years and never came across one, hope this helps.

Thanks very much for your reply, Rebecca; that's really useful.
