Does anyone know anything about ayurvedic treatments? I am currently seeing an ayurvedic consultant for my excema and have been for 2 months.... the excema wasn't that bad when i started, but since taking this medicine it has got so bad I can hardly move.... At the initial consultation I asked him whether i could excpect it to get worse before it gets better but he assured me it would not.... and now when i call him he says it's normal detoxing???!! So, I feel a bit like he is trying to fob me off and I feel like i've lost faith in it. Also I don't want to keep spending £40 per month for nothing - but if I just ned to ride it out for it to go away completely then it will be worth it... Does anyone else have any experiences of ayurvedic therapy - is his normal?

RE: Ayurveda?

Hi Dipti,

What credentials does your practioner have? A fully qualified ayurvedic doctor will have studied for approx 7 years in India and should therefore be able to fully understand how to treat your condition and should also be able to offer the relevant after care advice and reassurance if needed!

Hiya Dip

Can you tell us what exactly the treatment is that he is giving you. I have a friend who studied Ayurvedic medicine for donkey's years and will ask her if you like.

Love

I would try something else if I were you. Ayurvedic treatments would usually have started working by now

Eczema is a disease characterized by skin rashes that have redness, swelling, itching, dryness, and flaking. The skin itches and when scratched, results in a rash. In Ayurveda, this disease is known as Vicharchika. It occurs when the immune system becomes unbalanced, so the condition is often associated with other allergic conditions like allergic asthma, hay fever, etc. Genetic factors, debility, climate, and psychological factors can dispose one to the condition. Ayurveda medicines first increase the disease you are suffering from and then removes it completely. So I think you should just continue taking the medications.

Hi Dipti,
Along with this required education is being a registered nurse , nurse practitioners must have a post-graduate degree from an accredited program.

Ayurveda does take time - it is not a spot fix like western medicine
