selling aromatherapy products - advice needed

If you make products to sell, all legislation and tax laws etc. apply.
Even if you're not selling them, but giving them away, it's a good idea to try and stick within legislation, and make sure you have liability insurance, especially if they will end up being used by people you don't know, as the responsibility comes back to you if something should go wrong.

That goes for any product or service.

Can't add much to what Giles has said except that as long as you are not advertising your services to the public ,the powers that be are unliley to know what you are doing.. I have made aromatherapy blends for friends and family but I gave them away. And I wasn't promoting the service. This does not mean I think it is OK to try and avoid compling with legislation..It is there to protect te public.

Can i ask are you qualified as an aromatherapist?

Not really. You only need qualifications to decide what oils to use. If someone has decided for themselves what oils they need ANYONE can make them.

Its like you need to be a registered pharmacist to sell certain medications - but there won't be a pharmacist involved in the production of the the tablets that are sold. And you can buy some tablets like paracetamol without a pharmacist being involved at all.

ok .. well can anyone tell me where i should start in order that i might sell the products i'm making? what's the first thing i need to do? i'm feeling really stuck. 🙁
