hi everyone. this is my first post. I'm currently studying vctc beauty therapy level 3, and completing my pre blended aromatherapy assignment. I'm stuck!

Limitations of using pre-blended aromatherapy oils
When & why to refer to a clinical aromatherapist.
I've spent ages reading websites but not much wiser. I understand using pre blended you cant tailor the treatment to individual clients but not sure about referring to a clinical aromatherapist. its not something we've even touched on in class
any help greatly appreciated, even a website to find the information.
thanks in advance

A few ideas: pre blended oils are limited. An aromatherapist will have more choice to tailor the client needs not only for the first visit but over a number of treatments, the AT can vary the oils (thus avoiding toxic build up) whilst maintaining the same or similar therapeutic effect or alter as required at the time of treatment whereas the "beauty oils" are usually only available in three sorts (upper, downer and balancing).
Home use oils can be prepared and usually supplied.
Lifestyle options are given more in depth than any VTCT beauty therapy course.
Whilst I am retired now, this article relates my experience with blending for a course such as yours.
Thanks very much for your help, much appreciated
