I'd like to make my own natural deodorant, using cornstarch and essential oils (preferably a floral one). Does anyone know of a good 'recipe'? Anything else I should add? I've seen in some blog postings that baking soda (not baking powder) is needed too, but I don't know why.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks very much.

Baking soda/bicarbonate of soda deodorises. I have read (on several occasions) that it does so, e.g. if you sprinkle it into smelly trainers and leave overnight then shake out.

Do you know there are rock crystals (natural) that you can simply rub onto skin, e.g. armpits - they are a deodorant, i.e. not an anti-perspirant (still sweat but, apparently,
doesn't let off a smell!)

I use Pitroc as I don't sweat much. Had no problems when I travelled from the north-east of England then through France and to the south of Spain and back.
