Hi there. I am shortly returning to the world of Aromatherapy massage having trained around 8 years ago and have done the relevant refresher courses to bring my skills back. Just wanted to know how many essential oils do you keep as a therapist. Not sure whether I am better having fewer oils and knowing the properties of them rather than trying to learn 40 oils of which I may only use a fraction of them. Did you buy a starter kit or do you buy your oils individually and less of them. I also hope to do therapeutic massage as well which I will just use carrier oils for so it is not like I would only be doing aromatherapy massage and don't want to spend a fortune on oils which I may never use.
Any help appreciated.
I am also refreshing my reflexology skills too so there may be a few more posts shortly in the other sections too!!
Thanks again.
I used to go for aromatherapy, and my therapist had a core of 10 oils, and larger bottles of carrier oils, and used to make a blend to suit the individual she was treating. I can't remember which other ones she had, but I know that she had lavender, chamomile and rose absolute - cos' she used them on me!
I use a cherry wood box that holds 36 10ml essential oils which I refill from my bigger bottles. I use four carrier oils and one cream. Maybe I have a great memory but the fragrances remind me of what they do.
