We welcome discussions on your experiences of different Essential Oil Suppliers and these are invaluable to the Aromatherapists amongst us.

However any posts, recommending products, by members who are themselves supplying the oils, or are associated with any companies doing so, will be considered as advertising and will thus be deleted from the forums.

Thank you very much Holistic. I am not the brightest when it comes to using the computer. The site has some interesting stuff on it and I shall have to do lots of browsing and trying new things out. Much appreciated.

RE: Essential Oil Suppliers

I whole-heartedly agree. Kobashi are the most ethical and absolutely the best quality. I have bought them and been advised by a previous scientific advisor to the trade -UK and International (who had nothing to gain financially from this recommendation).
However, they still sell Sandalwood. Please don't buy it wherever it comes from. The Australian water table is being depleted because of Sandalwood production and you don't know what's in the bottle unless you are a millionaire and can afford your own plantation. Vanuatu has the only sustainable source and that is insufficient for the global demand of the perfume trade let alone the humble aromatherapist.

RE: Essential Oil Suppliers

Hi all,
Has anyone ordered oils from Amphora? I did and I found it a bit weird because none of the oils had BB dates on them. I emailed them and had no reply to explain why. So I emailed them again and guess what? Yes no reply again. I wasn't even rude I just asked them if there was a reason. I just thought it was a bit odd.

Has anyone else had a problem like htis and how did you get around it?

RE: Essential Oil Suppliers

nice to see the company i use on here. i use essentially oils and every time i call to order they are really nice, sometimes offering advice or offering a cheaper alternative if i want an oil that is too expensive. definitely a pleasant place to shop and glad to hear that they have good quality too.

RE: Essential Oil Suppliers

VAT isn't an aromatherapy term, butrcup63. It stands for Value Added Tax, and applies in the UK.

I noticed in another of your posts you used the $ sign, so I'm guessing perhaps you're in the USA.

I only ever use Quinessesence. Amphora from the local chemist if run out and no time to order.

I buy orgainic where available. Quinessence deliver within 48 hours, no complaints about them at all. All oils with dates on them (where applicable) and well labelled with generic and botanical name etc.

Thouroghly recommend them.

Do Kobashi still use a packaging box for every bottle of their oils... they used to when I last saw them? I think Tisserand did too - this is something that would put me off buying them... If I buy a bottle of oil - I am buying the oil, not its unnecessary packaging. Even if recycled paper and cardboard were used - they are IMHO still, actually unneccassry... and add to the cost of production. In that sense they are unethical.
Just a thought...

Hi Apollo

No, Kobashi dont put their e.o's in separate boxes. I have been ordering from them for several years now and none have had unnecessary packaging. Always pleased with their products.

Having used quite a few brands now these are my favs in order of preference,

1. Fragrant Earth - Expensive but top quality oils that are a pleasure to use.

2. Materia Aromatica - Recommended to me from here on a different thread. Really really impressed with my first order. The oils have a lovely rounded fullsome aroma and I will definately be ordering from these people again.

3. Culpeper - I've had some good little bargins from their sale section that I use for my diffuser. I don't know much about them but I've liked what I've had so far.

The following brands I would use if I couldn't use the above

1. Quinessence

2. Essentially oils

The following looked great but I felt really disappointed by because they didn't even bother to reply to a simple email asking for a little advice- this put me off buying from them at all to even try their oils.

1. Butterbur & Sage

2. Kobashi

Cheers

Nel 🙂

I'm thinking of using Amphora oils but am dubious as to the quality of the oils as they are so cheap. I also read on this forum that their oils do not have BB dates which rings a few alarm bells ! Does anyone use them regularly and can you recommend them ? Thanks

Essential Oil Suppliers

Hello - I am new to this site, so sorry that this is a question rather than an answer, but couldn't work out the best way to do this. I wondered if any of you have used the company called Naturally Thinking for your essential oils and other products - and if so, what you thought of them? I am considering placing an order, but always prefer to get a recommendation.

Many thanks. 🙂

Hi uslds1

Welcome to HP forums I look forward to seeing you around the pages.

Nice choice of essential oil suppliers too. I just love Fragrant Earth a tad pricey but well worth it for quality. Which is your fave from your list?

Hi

I'm new to Aromatherapy and have so far bought most of my oils from Star Child, they seem to be very nice oils and have been recommended to me. I've also bought some from Neph Aromatics, they are alot cheaper than Star Child but I don't know if that means the quality is a lot less!! I've also looked on a website Oils4Life but haven't ordered oils from here.

Looking through the previous entries, I've seen Star Child mentioned once but no mention of Neph Aromatics or Oils4Life, does anyone have any experience of these?

Hi Snitchley

I've used incense from Star Child but not essential oils and I haven't used oils from the other two companies you mention.
