We welcome discussions on your experiences of different Essential Oil Suppliers and these are invaluable to the Aromatherapists amongst us.

However any posts, recommending products, by members who are themselves supplying the oils, or are associated with any companies doing so, will be considered as advertising and will thus be deleted from the forums.

RE: Essential Oil Suppliers

Hi Lesley

I'm sure there are lots of therapists who would appreciate this topic as I know I have over the past few years tried several suppliers and now feel I have found the best so far.

For me Kobashi - - supply oils of a superior quality with the essential oils and bases being organic/naturally farmed. Their standards are exacting but their service is first class and friendly and this coupled with not outrageous prices keeps me going back to them.

Others I have tried are Absolute Aromas, Amphora Aromatics, Sensura, Essential Oils Direct. None of these to my mind compare with Kobashi, although I have no doubt there will be others who beg to differ. I will read others experiences with interest.

Thanks for starting this topic off.

Thanks for your response and I appreciate your comments regarding essential oil suppliers

However, it wasn't really my intention to begin a discussion on suppliers here. I just wanted to point out that, in the normal course of any discussion on this forum, your experiences of different oils and their suppliers are very welcome. Advertising, however, is not.

RE: Essential Oil Suppliers

Hi Sunset and Yeme,
I had a look at naturally thinking and yes they are quite reasonably priced, but have you tried [link= http://www.amphora-aromatics.com ]amphora aromatics[/link]I have been using them for a few years now. They are much more competitive and the essential oils are of the highest quality. They also have a much better range of essential oils. I looked at all the essential oil prices on naturallythinking site and amphora beat them all by quite a lot on nearly everything. I think they have been in the business for 15 years or moreso mustquite experienced. The delivery times are second to none. I usually get my delivery the next day, which is great as I am quite useless at keeping track of my supplies.

Mantra Aromatherapy are much higher priced than amphora too I noticed. I would recommend amphora through experience of service and price. Every little counts in this day and age.

All the best.

Hi

Mantra Aromatherapy's prices are on par with Amphora, with i think a comparable Service and Oil quality.

The other important feature that stands out with Mantra Aromatherapy is that there is no minimum order, whereas with Amphorathey have a minimium spend of £50.00 to achieve there wholesale prices.

Hello Yeme.

Aniseed 1.00 Amphora 1.15 Mantra
Basil 2.00 Amphora 2.35 Mantra
Bergamot1.70 Amphora 2.00 Mantra
Black Pepper2.50 Amphora 2.90 Mantra
Cedarwood 1.00 Amphora 1.15 Mantra
Chamomile Roman 5.00 Amphora 5.75 Mantra

and it goes on through the list...............

If I ordered just those 6 items I would make a saving of 2.10 buying from amphora.

I dare say they are of equal quality to amphora as there are only a couple of main importers in the UK who actually supply most wholesalers. I never disputed that.

My orders are always more than 50.00 so I stand to save quite a lot in the long run. Mantra have a 2.95 postage charge for orders under 50.00. Amphora has no postage charge for orders over 50.00.

I'm not telling you to change your supplier, I'm just letting you know that amphora have proved to be of better value to me in the few years that I have been using them. Its up to you who you use if you are happy with them.

All the best.

RE: Essential Oil Suppliers

Hi Milas

The prices you have detailed for Amphora does not include V.a.t, this has to be added on.

Mantra's prices are inclusive.

Orders with Mantra over 50.00 is free Delivery.

Not all therapists require a spend of £50.00 and Mantra's wholesale prices with no £50.00 spend is quite an attractive service.

If your happy wth Amphora thats Great, but just wanted to illustrate that prices are on par for oils.

It doesn't make it very clear on the Mantra site that VAT is included. Well that brings them into line. I will still stick to what I know and have begun to trust.

Best Regards,

Hi all,

Buying Essential Oils can be a nightmare. I've been an Aromatherapist since 1996. When I first qualifiedI looked everywhere for good quality oils. I found the man and have been a loyal customer ever since. He also comes with me and my students to Kew Gardens. I can't recommend him enough. Alan Howell [link= http://www.shechina.co.uk ]www.shechina.co.uk[/link] . He cares deeply about essential oils and absolutes. He always has time to answer questions and offer advice.:)

RE: Essential Oil Suppliers

Hi there,

It's a really good idea having people's comments on essential oil suppliers - as I've been practising for 18 years I've tended to stick with my old favourites but am open to hearing about any others that are good.

For great offers and unusual oils and absolutes - I love Essentially Oils

Fragrant Earth come highly recommended - but pricey.

Body Treats are good.

I also like Butturbur and Sage - for their knowledge and love of the oils.

My friend uses them for her essential oils, I haven't had first hand experience buying essential oils from them, but I get all my other products from Simply Supplements, but she must be happy because she's always calling me to ask if theres anything I need so we can combine orders to save money by taking advantage of there bulk buy discounts, most of all I am impressed with their speedy delivery and cheap prices!

I recently qualified and didn’t know where to start, but a friend put me on to [link= http://www.organictherapies.co.uk/ ]www.organictherapies.co.uk[/link] as she only used organic products where possible. I hadn’t thought about just using organic oils etc but they have everything you need from oils to cotton wool.

Their prices include VAT and there is FREE delivery on all orders and to be honest I can’t fault their service or the products.

Hi there

I use [link= http://www.phytobotanica.com ]www.phytobotanica.com[/link] for my essential oils. They are a local farmto me but you can order online too. They sell top quality oils, some of which they produce themselves organically. They are very good value for money considering the stringest tests the oils undergo and they also sell base products to add oils to.

Hope this helps

Personally I have found that Butterbur and Sage are far and away the nicest company I have dealt with. We went for a tour round their warehouse while I was doing my Aromatherapy course earlier this year and Bernie is the total yoda of all things odiferous! Their oils are also top notch quality and sourced from sustainable resources.

Have also used Amphora and PA Aromatherapy for odd and sods.

RE: Essential Oil Suppliers

i Guess everyone has there own personal supplier and have formed a personal attachment to the suppliers but i must say so have i. I use oils from a company called newdirections. Their oils are organic and they are very professional. so i say dont be one minded and have a look. Although they are my favourite i still like to look around at other places for certain products but i will always go back to them. They have branches all over the world so check them out.

EDITED to remove weblink.

Happy New Year to you all.

Ditto to your post. I have found ND excellent value for money and very helpful. Very good quality products. Also Base formula are very good. Like you, I do search all the time for the best products I can find, especially organic but I do have my favourites.

Have had a search online for newdirections but can only find the American site. Is there a UK site on the internet as well? Thanks
