RE: aromatherapy mix

The way aromatherapists are taught to blend is to add the essential oils to the carrier oil, in a glass dish with a glass rod to stir. You can get the rods from essential oils suppliers. I use tiny pyrex dishes from Tesco. Haven't they given you this info on your course?[:@] Naughty them.

I actually don't bother with the rods now, but do like them.

Plastic containers etc aren't suitable as essential oils can destroy plastic, but that doesn't stop some from using them and leaving a yucky mess to clear up. (I have to do it)!

Hope that helps, here for any further help wanted.

I use little glass dishes too but one of my tutors had some gorgeous pottery ones with graduated measures painted on them.

Does anyone know where to get them?

RE: aromatherapy mix

hi, thanks for getting back to me.
i can get the glass dish but i have looked for glass rods and cant find any at the suppliers, if you do not use them anymore what do you use instead?
also because your mixing different oils up for each client what is the best method of cleaning the glass dish and rod after every mix.
thanks

Tesco sell little pyrex dishes that are perfect. Little dishes you get in places like Minorca could be used also. Or check out Chinese shops for little ones.

The rods as mentioned are available from all essential oils suppliers. Basic Formula do them.

As for cleaning the dishes after use. I wipe them with kitchen towel after chucking away the left over oil and then clean them in hot soapy water. You can also put them in the dishwasher.

Have to confess to using (clean) fingers. If you don't fancy that then use a wooden spatula or even a teaspoon.

RE: aromatherapy mix

I have got a lovely chinese pot dish for mixing oil in when I do a massage and a tiny one which I got from school of aromatherapy. The little chinese one came from a shop in Leeds Corn Exchange.
