Hi everyone
I'm new to posting here but have been reading and soaking up lots of info on the site for a while now!
I'm interested in studying to be an acupuncturist and was wondering if anyone could recommend a course/college to me? (I'm based in Central London)
Thanks!
Jen
RE: Acupuncture course
Hi Jen
Welcome to the forum, not my cup of tea I am afraid putting needles into someone but hopefully someone will be able to respond to your request, have you tried typing "London acupuncture course" into a search engine to see if anything comes up?
RE: Acupuncture course
Hi Paul
Thanks for your reply.
I've found a couple of colleges in London from the net - the London College of Traditional Acupuncture (LCTA) and the School of Five Element Acupuncture (SOFEA) and I plan to visit the colleges when their open days come round but I was hoping there might be someone out there who has done a course (or knows someone who has studied at one of the UK colleges) and who might be able to give me some insight into what they thought. 😀
RE: Acupuncture course
My friend studied at the University of Westminster and she loved it. It's a BSc degree course however and pretty much full time 3 years. I think you can do it part-time too for up to 6 years.
I am doing their MSc in Therapeutic Bodywork and their teaching is excellent.

RE: Acupuncture course
Hi guys,
I've not seen this forum before, but I was just checking my web-listings when I saw all your queries about acupuncture courses. I work for an acupuncture College in Finchley, so I obviously can't recommend you come to ours (cos that would be advertising), but for all of you who want to find reputable colleges, there is the British Acupuncture Council, who accredit courses across the UK. Their website is and if you go to the BAAB: Training/institutions section you will find a list of fully accredited courses. Courses which are fully accredited by the BAAB will give you a qualification which will put you in the strongest possible position when state regulation comes into place next year. Most courses which are any good (i.e. are fully accredited) will be running regular open days (you will probably find them on the websites) which are always a good idea. Finding the right college is really imporant so visit as many as you can to see which one feels right.
Hope that's useful,
Bonny

Hello,
We are in central London and we have acupuncture courses (properly accredited, you can join CNHC afterwards).
We always have very small groups and quality for us is more important then quantity. We also teach some special and unique techniques and understanding of what you are doing, not simply applying protocols or memorising indications of points. Understanding western approach is very important for us too.
Contact me if you have questions.
