Someone on the acupuncture thread said my eczema on my ring fingers is caused by the triple burner meridian. I can't afford an acupuncturist now, so was wondering if there was a way I could massage the meridian or the points on the fingers and (outer?) arms.

Also, if there are any foods I should eat or not eat.

I don't think reiki pixie said it was caused by the TB Meridian, more so that the ring finger 'related' to it.

Do you have any other symptoms? could it be dermatitis?

I only ask as it is unusual to be so localised.

A better description of the condition might help someone point you in the right direction.

I've had it on my right ring finger for a couple of months. Just in the past couple of days it has started up on my left ring finger.

The eczema started about six months ago under my watch, so I stopped wearing a watch, but I still have a patch on the outer wrist area of my left hand. Then the patch formed on the right wrist in the same area and I don't wear jewelry. Then that is when it moved to my right ring finger. I've been using Mimyx cream and that has helped, but I hate to just treat symptoms.

Reading about related things, I have had a type of ringing in my left ear, although it sounds like static, and occasionally have shortness of breath unrelated to exertion, more likely to stress when I think of something stressful. I wake up very tired in the morning after nine hours of sleep.

That's all I can think of for the moment!

eczema is sometimes seen as internal heat showing on the exterior, and can associated with stress most of the time. The palpitations and tiredness would suggest a possible Qi deficiency of heart energies, but its root would be hard to determine without a full diagnosis.

At this time of year our liver is naturally detoxifying itself, as the liver effects the heart and lung energies, any deficiency could cause your symptoms. The ringing in the ear would suggest heart energies(as reiki pixie suggested...sanjiao/TB)

These symptoms also go hand in hand with neck pain, neck injuries and tension pain.

Here are some commonly used points , but i would recommend a complete diagnosis from a trained TCM practitioner. As massaging these points could effect the outcome of you recovery.

Hand points:
Pericardium 8, Sanjiao 3 & 5, Large Intestine 4,heart 7.
Lower points:
Spleen 6, Liver 3.
Head points:
Gallbladder 3, Sanjiao 19.

I have stress because I lost my job in January. My neck has been bothering me partly from the stress and partly probably because I do crunches and often stress my neck that way. When I turn my head to the left, I can feel some stiffness. Perhaps this will resolve itself if I do planks instead of crunches.

To the previous poster, dermatitis is an umbrella term for any type of skin problem. Eczema is one of them.

I read something interesting. Eczema can be caused by an imbalance of omega 6 and omega 3. Most people have too much omega 6 but I don't eat meat, margarine, corn oil or safflower oil, so maybe I don't have enough. My eczema is getting better.

There are equivalents to all 12 meridians on fingers, used in Su-jok acupuncture.
And the left hand ring finger relates to Burn? (term?) - the
Cosmic Fire revealed in Heart Constrictor and Triple Burner.
But in Su-jok the Triple Burner is on index and little finger,

Skin problem here in Su-jok terms is Dryness ---> Burn --->
excess of Heat or Dampness depending on symptomes.

The acupuncture scheme to heal regarding to "the moment of it's appearance on left ring finger" as the date is known.
The guidance is in the post:

The scheme was composed assuming the leading symptome
is itching.
If it's profoundly red or/and burning, it needs to be
modified.

hi,

Of course, it's hard to be specific without knowing more and being able to see you (and your finger!) but eczema will have some element of heat in it if the skin is red and dry. In this case, avoiding heating foods will help - Cut down on spices like ginger, cinnamon, garlic, chilli etc and avoid deep fried or very rich foods, alcohol and lamb.

If you're interested in this area, I recommend either or both of Daverick Leggett's books on Chinese food energetics.

Good luck!

As an addition to the above - it is also worth trying to cut a couple of things out of your diet.
For the first week, cut out dairy produce.
If there is no improvement, add nuts to those you are avoiding.
Both are common allergens.

However, as has been said, without a full consultation, it is impossible to suggest points which you could massage to any great effect.
